And Sony Ericsson (their Vivaz model is quite a swangsong actually)... But this came to an end, as SE are fully aligning themselves with Android, and Samsung invented their own OS (Bada) to compete against Symbian. They both officially declared stopping of manufacturing Symbian-based handsets. Now only Nokia and NTT Docomo are active vendors behind Symbian, so they probably may rebrand the consortium to N&N :)

People who cheer against Apple are retarded. Apple MADE the modern smartphone as we know it. As one of my friends put it:

Apple is amazing at revolution. They are not so amazing at evolution.

Cheering for the downfall of Apple is ridiculous. No company has brought as much revolution to the computing world as that company. Stop being such retarded fanboys. Yes, Apple has its issues. They're Draconian about their policy, implementation, and user interaction.

But can you argue with what that company has brought to consumers over the past 30 years? The company launches so many consumers into a new space that it's ridiculous. First, the Apple. Then, the Mac. Then, color. Then, the Internet. Then, music. Then, phones.

I don't cheer against apple, but I definitely wouldn't buy one of their products.  I'm wondering if anyone here can recommend the best andriod smartphone, I'm looking into the HTC evo 4g and that looks pretty sweet (I'm on sprint right now)

Good for Android (and Google). If their forth-coming Chrome OS is just as successful that will shake up the PC-computing world.

Agree that Android (and most of the others) is sold on many models of phones from many different manufacturers so for iOS to compete with just the one phone and manufacturer is impressive.

Damn look at that YoY market share increase for that android. Job well done. (Even though I dislike cell phones)

If your on Sprint, Evo is the way to go. Phone reccomendations really come down to what your carrier has. The Evo is one of the best out there, and provides enough horsepower to ensure the phone will last quite some time...This coming from a guy that has a wimpy MyTouch with half the power an Evo has. Amazing what the Android market has done in one year.
