`yeah that was like in august

and i wasn't the first,i thought it was another rumour and din't touch the article but when later i saw the video.i made a thread about updates

yeah i defended homebrew but if you can recollect my posts,i was defending on the basis blu-rays from different region could be played anywhere

and the fact that this will allow me to play the games i would normally shaft and not play and if they are good i would but them

ah okay then. my bad, that does sound like a resonablely good feature.

Piracy is always going to be blamed for Sony's failure, but never Nintendo or Microsoft.

Apparently, people don't pirate on Nintendo and Microsoft platforms.

well MS doesn't have a handheld platofrm and on consoles the games usually keep selling as they are big to download and the online features

and also that MS sells most of their consoles in NA,UK where they take action against piracy like banning modchips

in Ninty's case,Wii is just like 360 and a home console

in DS's case, yeah the piracy is blamed but you need R4 cards which are again banned and action is taken against them

in PSP's case you just do it all digital and on your own, nothing required.now there can be no action taken against that.

cam you go and stop everybody from using internet and loading custom firmware on there PSP,no you can't

If this is real, does this means only people with already hacked PS3 or with firmware 3.4 or lower will be able to use the Jailbreak?

I ask this because Sony eliminated most of USB Dongles with firmware 3.5, so how could a PS3 with that firmware already installed use this jailbreak?

nah it would be compatible with 3.50 and new PS3's sold

Sony eliminated most but not all

perhaps they modify 3.50 to allow usb's

It doesn't make any sense, don't you think? How to use the jailbreak that will allow USB dongle if the system doesn't allow a usb dongle? I'm pretty sure the dongles allowed are harmless, otherwise Sony would have them banned already, imo. I can see it being compatible with already hacked PS3's, but not on newer consoles.

But I guess we will find out soon, if this is real, of course.

Thanks man!

SONY disabled most of the USB dongles, but many usb drives still work

they also disabled usb dongles during PS3 startup which is used by current dongles to enter into the debug mode

now if they put a software on one of the usb drives and then update the 3.50 firmware.

then when you will start the PS3,the PS3 dondle will work

the dongles and usb drive are different things

and SONY can't ban a normal USB hardrive that has data on it

its like Custom firmware but here it will modify only a few things
