Today I watched a segment on the CBC talking about how Canada is one of the top countries listed by Al-Qaida. They started saying how we have had three major terrorist attacks thwarted by CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service, Canada's CIA).
Then they began talking about how easy it was for this asian guy to sneak aboard a plane and get to Canada. The man used a mask and disguised himself as a US citizen, the Chinese Government cleared him and the Canadian Security Team didn't really varify his identity allowing him to just walk on the plane.
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, commented in an interview that terrorist threats cross his table daily. He said that the story of the man from asia should have never been leaked to the media.
The CBC went on to talk about how Canada is hated by most terrorist organisations and is listed on various hit lists.
So this got me wondering, if were so hated by the terrorist groups and daily terrorist threats pass by the Public Safety Ministers desk. Why hasn't their been a single successful terrorist attack in Canada? Is CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) really that good that they are able to thwart every single terrorist attempt.
Or is an attack inevitable? Will Canada eventually get hit, why hasn't Canada been hit yet? What do you think?
