I know its hard to believe. Even  harder for me to admit that a COD game could be GOTY contender, but after seeing some new videos, reading about all that this game has to offer it could be GOTY contender. The amount of customization in this game is ridiculous. I don't need to go into too much detail into this because I'm sure anyone interested in the game knows about the level of customization this game will have. What you may not know is this looks to have a solid campaign and definitely the best in the series. Also besides Campaign, MP, and Zombies (they make a return) there is another mini game called Dead Ops Arcade. I don't know how to embed vids but here is a link to a video and I must say it looks awesome.

Once again I think this game is going to be a GOTY contender and its going to get top notch reviews. After playing Reach I thought it would definitely be best FPS this year (probably my favorite FPS this gen) but now I think Black Ops might be better. Thats hard for me to say.

black ops isnt going to be better, for a couple of reasons:

-1- camping

-2- doesnt require skill

-3- balance issues

-4- childish content

-5- a bad campaign(im sure of it)

-6- and below average basic gameplay.

even though i hate halo and the little aliens in the game id rather play it then any cod game(unless if im playing zombie mode)

@zgamer5: wow is all I have to say. 

Camping is not that big of a problem in call of duty.  I get so sick of hearing that.  Snipers should camp, as that is what a sniper would do anyways, and as for other people, you watch the kill cam, and go kill the camper that just killed you with a grenade, it really isn't that hard.

As for not requiring skill, I would really like to see you play against some of the better people in the world.  Simply having a 1.5 or 2 k/d ratio in Call of Duty does not imply that no skill is required, and that you are amazing.  There's a huge reason why some people are able to get large killstreaks quite often, and without the noobtube.

As for balance issues, how can you know right now that it will be more or less balanced than Halo Reach for example.  After a lot of hours in Modern Warfare 2, really the only things I've come to determine that aren't "balanced" are One Man Army and Grenade Launchers.  As far as I know, Black Ops will not have One Man Army, which pretty much eliminates this problem altogether.  Almost everything else in MW2 can be countered and is really balanced imho.

Could you pleaseeeeee describe to me what exactly you mean by "childish content"?  The campaign in MW2 was not childish to any degree, and as for what happens online, I've had no problems that were caused by whatever "childish content" is.

You're assuming a game will have a bad campaign before you even know it.  People said MW2 campaign wasn't that great (although I thought it was decent), so you immediately assume this one will have a bad one as well.  I honestly think Black Ops has the potential to have one of the better FPS campaigns in a while.

What exactly do you mean by below average basic gameplay?  In my opinion, a major reason CoD got popular is because of how much people enjoy the overall gameplay of it.

I really don't like people that completely bash a game before it comes out when I truly do think that Black Ops will make the series look like it will have a bright future ahead of itself, let alone let people have a completely different opinion about Treyarch.

Please don't post if you're just going to try to derail the thread and not going to have some sort of contructive feedback.

1-Camping is in every FPS game. Its a legit strat and obviously you just aren't skilled in them to know how to get around it.

2-Every FPS takes some sort of skill and by Treyarch taking out scavenger on Noob Tubes, One Man Army, Tac insertion on FFA, and quickscoping many of the cheap tactics will not exist anymore. I don't think its a coincidence I'm in the top 2 or 3 almost everytime I play MP. Must take skill.

3-Here is your best argument against the COD series but since Black Ops is going away from the standard set of leveling up to get perks etc this game could be one of the most balanced CODs since perks were introduced. For instance you get access to every single perk once you reach level 4 and you can create a class. No more only getting the perk you really want once you hit level 22 for example. Now you use the COD points (game monetary system) to pick which perks you want to buy the moment you can create a class. Guns are still unlocked as your level progresses, but you buy them as well and the M16 is the first gun that everyone has access to (also one of the most accurate and powerful). So balance issues should be a minimum.

4-I don't know what you mean by childish content. Children arguing online? Talking smack? Well either mute them or play on the 360 since I know PS3 doesn't have party chat or cross game chat. Sorry about your luck. If you mean Killstreaks or perks then I guess you just don't like COD therefore no need to even post here.

5-I'm assured you didn't watch the video I posted of some campaign gameplay as it looked good and you aren't assured of anything. This campaign may or may not be good but we don't know yet. But going by the footage I've seen it looks great.

6-Once again your opinion and I can see you don't like COD therefore no reason to post.

yea, he clearly just shouldn't be playing call of duty...not to mention a lot of the changes in Black Ops will get rid of pretty much every negative "noob" aspect to the game.

By the way, the guy in the Dead Ops video is right, it does look a lot like Dead Nation.

-1- yes, thats why i stopped playing mw2, its frustrating when you get spawned killed, true its in every fps game, but cod encourages camping, mainly because of the perks and the maps.

-2- black ops isnt yet out what are you talking about? and yes theyv done that, but theirs still camping, and the issue of balance, which ruins it.

-3- i know that, still their is are balance issues, if you have ghost, and ninja your almost invisible. and since you can buy the attachments, can you add shotgun akimbo, im sure youl love the outcome. also a car package can make you win the game, it didnt stack up in mw2, but it helped me get higher scores, such as getting a harrier strike, or an ac 130. and now you can get guns from it, one which is a 4 barreled rocket launcher.

-4- how doesnt a kamikazi remote control car sound childish? how doesnt the ability to pull a die hard sound childish? you have a cross bow, which shoots exploding arrows, if the arrow hits you it has no damage, ofcourse it will explode and you will die, but the overall idea is silly. and lets not start talking about the two guns which come from perks, a cod dev said they can be game changers, im ok with that, but a 4 barrel rocket launcher, isnt that going to bring the masses in?

-5- i watched the first 10 minutes of the campaign, i coudnt understand what was happening, considering the story takes time during diffrent periods(or am i wrong) and very diffrent areas, i wonder how they are going to make the story make sense. the one of mw2 barely did.

-6- i dont hate cod, actually ive loved cod till i played mw2. my problem with it is mainly the camping, i can look past my other issues, but camping made me hate the franchise. other then that my big problem  is that since call of duty 2(never played the first) the gun mechanics have barely changed, same physics, no recoil, and that most of the guns fell the same.

when i heard the zombie mode i was hyped, but then i went and watched gameplay footage of it, and i knew that i was going to have a frustrating time with the game. i have to hand it to treyarch for adding content and removing many bugs and problems with mw2. but they should have went back to the drawing board and changed the basic gameplay.

Killstreaks don't stack in this game. If you want killstreaks you actually have to come out and get kills. Camping will be at a lower level than MW2. You seriously need to get over this camping complaint. How about in Halo when someone camps with a shotty or sword crouched? Its in every game as I already said and it will never go away.
