The mag awards Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit a 93% score. It says the game is "totally back on form, returned to glory by the best arcade racer creators in the business".
According to the review Criterion's "injection of passion and innovative online tech has done wonders" and the end result is the "best arcade Need for Speed" in years.
Unlocks such as cars, upgraded weapons and a "first-person-shooter-style rank" encourages players to work towards becoming the "Ultimate Enforcer".
Hot Pursuit is a "focused" racer that "encapsulates all the core elements and 'feel' of the past games but improves in almostevery area", it's a game "made by fans for fans".
EA has confirmed at a recent presentation in Japan that it will release a number of high-profile titles - including Need for Speed - to iDevices in the coming months.

==================
I loved the demo! It's really fun being a Racer and Cops are ok for me. Maybe I'm not doing the Cops parts right with all the blocks, etc.
And the autolog is a really neat feature. I've got one guy on my friend's list whose played it and I beat his record easily on one of the race tracks. It's not complicated to look at either which is really good.
The graphics and controls are really slick and responsive.
I might have to pick this up next year or so.
