Forums - General - Are people around you becoming less grateful?

Namely public spaces that people share. Such as parks, public transit, streets, etc.

A few examples.

People don't bother taking their trash after themselves and opt to litter instead. Such as coffee cups, McD bags, news papers, food wraps, etc...

People spitting on sidewalk...

Vandals, self explanatory.

It could be my fuzzy memories playing trick on me, but I seem to remember the city used to be clean.

It's so often that I see despicable sights it's really sad.

Do you stop your friends from littering?

I don't know how it is where you live.

I can talk about Buenos Aires, a huge city in which I live (not for long, I hope) and that is out of scale, with transportation problems, lots of poverty and criminality.

I can tell you how about a week ago two armed guys pointed at my head as I was about to enter to my apartment where my baby daughter and my beautiful wife were waiting for me at midnight. I was threaten, I was beat and I was robbed, but somehow I manage to convince them not to enter to my apartment, for my baby girls sake.

I can tell you how grateful I am that they left without harming any of them.

Half the People don't flush in Public Toilets and it's bloody disgusting.

there was a bridge (not exactly a "bridge", but that describes it best) near my parents' house, when I was a kid I played around there quit a lot. Last month I went back to visit my parents, I was walking pass under the bridge and saw the base was covered in iron wires . My parents told me that local council did this to stop people from removing bricks & rocks from the bridge to their own backyards. so yeah, it is happening.

Please Mr Bubbles, do explain.

This one time i saw, a guy was spitting every few seconds while he talks to his gf. On the sidewalk no less, around the bus stop. His gf, made no comment and continues chatting with him as if normal. They looked no older than 20.

Do girls torlerate that?

why thats how resourceful our neighbourhood is, you want a fountain in your backyard, rather than paying for the materials, you go and dig them up yourself.

That's a lesson well learnt. Nothing compares to the pride and joy of digging your own materials yourself. Gotta love the hard working people.
