Forums - Sony - TSA: THE FIGHT LIGHTS OUT REVIEW

Yup, it's a bit daft...although a fair few reviewers have marked it down because the adventure mode controls are a bit pants. I love on-rails shooters so it's on my list of games to buy, along with The Fight Lights Out after watching the iWaggle review.

Wow this game is getting slaughtered by reviewers !!

Well i bought it ( i bet that i own more move-specific games that most sony fans in this forum or elsewhere , judging by the software sales)  and it's a very good game , if you let yourself have fun with what the game is supposed to be. Great graphics , nice workout system and the game actually encourages you to work out so that you can gain skill points and make your fighter better and incredibly intense fights. If you hate getting tired by playing videogames avoid this like  the plague . My arms hurt like crazy after playing this for 90 minutes but i don't mind at all.

The motion based precision of your moves is not the best but this doesn't really bother me when playing the game. The production values are the best for a move-specific game thus far. The game is serious , maybe more so than needed (although Dany Tredjo is hilarious) and has a dark tone somewhat similar to fight club. The menus and options that the game provides are a nice change from the bare bones presentation of games like sports champions.

I give the fight an 8 and i recommend it to anyone that likes motion-based games and isn't afraid of a bit exercise (oh the game counts the calories you burn , another plus , IMO)

I generally don't get the reviews of most motion-based games.

I've ordered it from my mate at Sony so I should be getting it in a couple of weeks hopefully. I'd initially wriiten the game off as a pile of old pants with broken controls after I'd read the IGN and Video Gamer reviews but the iWaggle video review completely changed my opinion. I'm going to have to get another Move controller at some point though just so that I can play it the way it's meant to be played rather than using my Nav controller. So many things to buy!!!

Yup, some of the Move reviews from IGN have been very dodgy imo, Tumble gets 3.5/10 despite being a bargain £7.99 and Sonic Free Riders, despite having half a second's worth of lag gets 7.5/10.

The IGN review of  Fighters Uncaged will be very interesting indeed, Eurogamer gave it 2/10...and by the sounds of things it was lucky to score that high lol. Please make sure you're not eating or drinking anything before checking out the review. Best. Review. Ever. lol

If they give that a higher score than 3/10 then you know something is going on!!!

we already know something is going on they also rated time crisis at a 4/10, you should see the reader views, our suspicions are confirmed ms is using super dirty tactics right now!!

4/10?!? Time crisis 4 by itself got like 8/10 from IGN. Now its coming with 2 other new games plus Move and guncom 3 support and the whole package get 4/10?!?

What's funny is that originally it said you had to hit the O button to block.  But once they were proven wrong, it was edited to "you'd think that blocking would be as simple as holding your dukes up towards your face, but many times we would lose calibration and would have to hold the O button on the PS Move to calibrate the fighter in the right direction again."  Though, they forgot to take out the sentence after that one.  "This can feel extremely unnatural and it'll take some time to get used to pressing it before you think about throwing your hands up."

So which is it, IGN?  Is it unnatural to have to hit the O button to block, since you want to just use your hands, or is it that the game loses calibration every time you try to block?  From everyone elses review, you're wrong on both accounts.  Hopefully this ends up like Hearts of Iron 2.  According to some posts I read, IGN had so many inaccuracies in the first review, they had to do a second one.

Edit: BTW, where is the video review for this game?  I was pretty sure IGN has been doing those for every major release, lately.

A 5.0 from Gamespot:

  • (PROS) Danny Trejo is a fitting mentor -  Punching dudes in the face is fun.
  • (CONS) Controls need constant recalibration - Fails to properly recognize special moves - Nonexistent storyline  - Dull and dark graphics.

Basically they didn't like the controls.

I didn't have a problem playing it with one move controller and the regular ps3 controlller.
