which is lamer/worse? With all the recent posts about Spike TV's VGA Awards figured i'd ask what you guys think. Its garbage vs garbage.

 Spike TV VGA Awards vs G4 Awards

I honestly don't pay attention to either one of them. If I had to guess, I'd say the G4 awards would have slightly more integrity, but that's like picking who is the most virtuous killer in a prison. I've saw more adds for the Spike awards since I've been watching UFC stuff on Spike; it kind of makes me think it's the MTV awards of video games: many flash in the pan celebrities trying to show how cool they are, meaningless awards, "prestigous" awards geared to satisfy tasteless teens, and mostly horrible music thrown into the mix.

Ever since I saw a 30 minute G4 special review on the greatness of Ratchet and Clank in which they claimed had almost if not more success than Mario as it helped PS2 reach domination of over 100 million units last generation, I lost respect for them. Oh, by the way, they gave that game a 5 out of 5.

I find both of those awards pointless corporate drivel. Seriously, they are both horrid!

If i had to choose... Spike TV's are worse... just because Spike TV to my knowledge doesn't have a really crappy show dedicated to reviewing games on a 1-5 scale that tells you almost nothing.

So G4 gets credit for actually having an excuse for having an extremely lame awards show.

 O...kay, I see how selling around 8 million for the series on PS2 is the same as the Mario series doing well over 100 million...

 But that doesnt stop their games being great, at least 2 deserved around 5/5 it was awesome.

Actually, after the first or second year, the G4 Awards (G-Phoria) went to a public opinion format. They choose the nominees. We vote. No lame celebrities. It really isn't that bad.
