it could happen...it's COD after all, and the Userbase is much bigger than when MW2 released...it could be the 1st 10M seller on PS3...

don't forget that it's releasing in holiday season... and even when MW2 had much less pre-orders than those for BO, the 1st week was 3,247,112...

Theres only one thing missing from this game now that I think about it, the ability to fully customize your character by allowing the players to essentially create their dude oblivion style (iconic reference) so that each player feels more attached to their character with millions of possibilities, and somehow over the course of their career measured in game time start to show signs of aging such as wrinkles, scars and such that are applied on your character after your most epic matches that each tell its own story.  Crazy that with everything else, they still havent figured out that people enjoy having the ability to customize their in game character.  What Im saying is that while I enjoy call of duty immensely, I also enjoy my mmorpgs and other games that understand gamers want to immerse themselves in the game world, call of duty should be no different considering the amount of time gamers will spend with black ops online.  Right now im connected to my call of duty... profile.  I want to feel a connection with my character and maybe even be able to point out a few scars or war wounds on my character and know exactly which match and how I got that scar.  Its a little far fetched and the wound thing would have to be done in moderation, but its certainly something that would give gamers that extra reason to keep playing, to see how your character evolves as you continue to play online.
