Are you sure it's the cable that does the display?
| disolitude said: There is no HDMI 1.4 cable and those marketting it are just trying to fool you in to paying more. HDMI 1.4 cables are same as HDMI 1.3 cables. ITs the chips inside the TVs and Blirays that are different slightly. Get any HDMI 1.3 b or c cable which 10.2 gbps bandwith and you're good. |
This! HDMI 1.4 cable is a 1.3 cable at 10.2 GBPS with a ethernet cable integrated. In case you dont know. Youll have the exact same image with a 5$ cable and a 100$ cable.

Its because of the bandwith of your cable.
Edit: Sorry I misread your post. I thought you were unable to display 1080/24p.
The reason why is that the native output of blu ray is 24 HZ. If your display can handle that the HZ will remain 24, always. Its actually better.
My hdmi say the following :
1,Compatible with PS3 & Xbox360 vedio game
2,New mini connector,HDMI cable 1.8M in length
3,New lossless audio formats
The cable compaitoble with xbox360 console,high definition multimadia interface.
* High speed :
10.2 Gbps bandwidth support the demands of future high definition display devices,such as higher resolutions,Deep color and high frame rates.
* Deep color :
HDMI 1.3 supports 30-bits and 48-bits (RGB or YCbCr) color depths,up from the 24-bits depths in previous versions of the HDMI specification.
* Broader color space :
Next-gerneration "xvYCC" color space supports 1.8 meters as many colors as existing HDTV signals.
* Lip Sync :
HDMI 1.3 incorporates an automatic video/audio synching capability that allows devices to perform this synchroniation automatically with total accuracy.
* New mini connector:
Offers a new ,smaller form factory connector option.
* New lossless audio formats:
HDMI 1.3 adds additional support for new,lossless compressed digital audio formats Dolly TrueHD and DTS-HD.
Does this mean that this can support 1080p 3D

No what I meant was that when I use another cable it can display the BD men etc. But when I use this cable everything goes blank until a movie (1080/24p) starts

Its a 10.2 gbps so yes it can.
Buy three cheap cables if you're worried about them "wearing out".
Seriously, it's a digital cable. There is ZERO quality difference between the cheap cables and the $75 Monster cables. The cable either transmits the ones and zeros or it does not.
