Three times, always when fairly intoxicated and equally depressed. It's not something I'd do when sober, it was never really good anyway, and I felt miserable after that. Also about the fact that all three times (in what's about 12 years of sex life) have been during the only proper and long-lasting relationship I've had.

Still, we've had our serious talk about this, and with this relationship going on its 6th year now, we've agreed that these things can happen, but as long as it isn't habitual and it isn't an affair, it's not worth getting into relationship-breaking tension.

Yep, get them before they get you. All women are compulsive liars and attention seekers. From a male perspective it is ego destroying to be cheated on when u have been faithful. It is therefore imperative to cheat on your gf within the 1st few months, that way when they do it to you it is far easier to deal with. This isnt cynicism it is fact. It is human nature to be promiscuous, those that deny this are lying to themselves, probably whilst their gf is out fucking someone else.
