What Is The Best Games Digital Distribution Service?

Steam 47 66.20%

Xbox Live 7 9.86%

PSN 7 9.86%

VC/Wiiware 4 5.63%

Other (please mention) 6 8.45%

Total:71

Honestly I didn't think PSN would have more votes than Xbox Live. Steam being number 1 isn't surprising, but being a console-centric forum, I have to say I expected a tighter run.

They all have their great points.

I've probably bought the most from XBLA and GOG.com (which is one that should of been mentioned).

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Good old games - no drm on DD software is autowin.

Yes! More support for GOG! We loev old games and we love them now!

Not to mention they get the games to work on modern systems. I've re-bought software that I have CDs sitting beside my PC for, simply because GOG has the secret sauce to make them work on a modern PC. I've done it with the Might & Magic collection and Capitalism.

Also speaking about Gog there are talks that it might be DD platform which will be used for Witcher 2 and they are thinking about expanding into new games beyond that.

It would be fitting, given that GOG is wholly owned by CD Projekt, which made The Witcher 2.

If they get new games, I hope to God that it doesn't water down the perfection that is their current library. For the record, I've been a member of GOG since they began. My account says I've been registered for 779 days now, hehe.

Steam easily for me.

Best deals and a simply huge range of quality titles now, plus clear links to reviews, trailers, specifications, etc.

Auto-update of titles.

Ability to use your games on up to 5 PCs and have saves, etc. stored on Steam cloud.

Easiest to navigate (okay so using a mouse in a shopping environment is probably an advantage but hey) and most user friendly interface.

Live and PSN are pretty good stores on the console side, but I find Steam from a pure shopping/access point of view way ahead.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Well shoot, you are right. I knew it was originally a PC title, but I did not know it was on Steam.  Shoulda assumed of course.  Although I must say given the nature of the gameplay the wiimote might have the slight edge.  Either way you play it is a phenomonal game!
