So I turn it on today and guess what, it merrily flashed these beautiful red rings along with its usual green power light! How festive! I wanted to hang it on my Christmas tree, the way it was blinking like that. Anyways I call Microsoft and they were very friendly and processed my repair order.  Hold time was about 5 minutes before I talked to a human. Also, I never registered the Xbox when I got it and they registered it for me on the phone. So I just have to wait for some box to be mailed to me so I can ship it back.

I cant wait a month for my Xbox to return sooooooo I decided to order a new Xbox 360 Arcade Unit from Amazon. It comes with the free Beautiful Katamari and Viva Pinata (cool!). Plus I think most of the new Arcade units have hdmi and new 65nm cpu. Should get here by the end of the week. I already have a hard drive so it seems like the best choice eh?

Im giving the old 360 to my bro when it gets back!

also, sorry to see you have joined the rest of the 99.5% of 360 owners. Seriously, not to bash MS, even though its kinda hard not to when talking about the defect rate, does anyone know anyone that has:

A. owned their 360 for at least 6 months.
B. not broken.

I don't. I have 6 friends/co-workers with 360's. All have broken at least once. and 2 have broken more than once.

I already have a hd from my dead 360. MS says to only ship the console back, no accessories. So once I get the Arcade in gonna slap the old HD on it. When I eventually give the old repaired 360 to my bro he can buy his own hd

Are you sure those new arcades have HDMI and 65nm? Because a lot of the reviews say its just a repackage core. Good luck with it tho! It's a great deal if you got it when they were $254
