Also in the video they claim that the Military, Hospitals and Banks are trying to get their hands on Kinect technology.

Do you believe this?

Well Kudo Tsunada said it, so it must be true...right?

Call me traditional but I'd rather have something in my hand when I'm playing table tennis. But for the volley ball Kinect is obviously the winning platform.

For me Kinect is all win with games where your character / avatar isn't holding anything. But where your avatar / character is holding things in their hand then I think Wiimote and Move are better technology, especially where subtle movements of what's in your hands is important for how the game performs.

I think "change the way we game forever" is both true and not true. Wii has already rung in the motion control change, so the change gaming forever thing predates Kinect. And even though I'm loathe to mention it Eyetoy did bring us controller-free gaming a generation ago. What Eyetoy didn't do is change the main means of gaming control. Kinect has taken controller-free gaming to an entirely new and much more accessible level. So it will change forever the way we game in that controller-free gaming will be a much much bigger part of gaming than it was pre-Kinect. But it won't become the main control system for gaming.

The other thing Kinect will do is up the ante for the next generation. Nintendo will need to do something pretty special to keep the top spot, and not just make a Wii with HD. Sony will have to think about making the PSEye something more than a more or less standard webcam with a microphone.

Well I don't think the Kinect can determine your front from back.

At 0:55, keep your eye on the Avatar character at the top right. Its fine when she is in profile, but it goes crazy when she spins.

All the avatar problems should be fixed when they implement the new  more realistic avatars. Most of the glitchy videos showed the old avatars like the one in the video.

Well I'd be surrpsied if it can determine you are facing away from the camera. But its not really important.

I don't see a scenario where you would need to face away from the TV.

What about when you have a row with Milo?

what i don't understand with gamers not being interested by kinect is actually about the potential of kinect beside gaming.....

I can understand motion controled games don't give you a hard on especially when you see what really happened with the competition... yeah i still think once again that Wii motion control is not that hot (its fun once in while with friend though I won't deny it)

but come on... how pimp it is to navigate on your personal space just talking to your console and moving your hands around like Simon Silverton in the movie gamer or like in minority report (yeah imagine kinect combined with 3d technology)

just for that kinect is for me... it could be for everything but gaming i'd be probably as much excited as i am now....

Hmm.  Nope.  Still not feeling any love for it.  There was no critque at all here, just a couple of lines and various shots of them playing it in some spare BBC cupboard.

I'm afraid I'm in the camp that got interested initially with Milo & Kate and the early speculation about scanning in stuff, etc. but the more I see of what it will offer - at least at launch - the less I see of interest.

Also, if I ever think I'm sounding/looking like the main presenter I'll have to stop playing videogames!

At least they did play it though, but this close to launch I still don't like talk of lag that will 'probably' be ironed out.

I'll read the full review they mention and see if there is actually any substance there.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
