Forums - Gaming - Borderlands?

I'm going through all the games I would have liked to play in the past but ended up passing on. So borderlands crossed my radar and has got me interested. Its very cheap now and it seems that there is alot of value there. Any borderland fans out there that can attest to its merits? I won't have much time to invest for the next couple of months, but is it a game I can just pick up and play for an hour or so and be fulfilled?

sure, you can complete some quests in that time or just hop into someone elses game and tag along or wander a bit for an hour.

there is a GOTY edition thats either out now or out soon and i would recommend it since it comes with all the extra content.  all the DLC (except moxxis [which is still useful because you can stash weapons in their safety deposit box] are great.

I honestly hated borderlands. i thought that the lack of structure made the whole place feel barren. But i was hoping for a fallout style game so maybe it's my fault.

its a shooter-RPG in the way that fallout was an RPG-shooter.

great game, you can play it in little sessions or long ones, either way you´ll have a good time.

It's best played with friends. Was so boring playing alone - however I got the Platinum trophy for it, but that's because I like trophies, not Borderlands. It's got basically zero story - it's mostly about loot, and the game mechanics is pretty good. But if you're looking for an engaging tale or amazing atmosphere, look elsewhere.
