Honestly Xbox live should not be worth more than PSN. I can't believe people would $50 a year (including me). Hopefully this will be my 12 month which will be expiring in february. Its ironic that xbox live costs $50-$60 a year but PSN has more games with dedicated servers. And xbox live has maybe 1 or 2 and then gears 3 which is long overdue for dedicated servers. I guess you can justify paying $60 a year just because xbox live does have more people and cross game chat, but it's still not worth it. Microsoft has people locked up to believe that xbox live really is better and thats why so many people would pay $60. In reality though xbox live is not much better than PSN.

I kinda see how it's a slap in Sony's and Nintendo's face... while Sony is trying to sub thier customers with PSN .... it's obvious they want in. And if Nintendo is a business... they're thinking about it too.

Microsoft #1 at online and pushing forward with thier online service wih features like ESPN sports coming to Xbox live and raising the price while Sony is starting it's PSN ... terrible service in comparison btw unless you want to pay 50$ to rent (lasts only as long as your subscribed) a few freebies and a discounts on DLC and Downloadale games. It's a joke. Nintendo doesnt have anything going on and Nintendo having the most casual customers this gen ... yeah probably not going to be as successful.

While the people at Microsoft laughs thier heads off at Nintendo and Sony because of thier success of providing an excellent service and profiting from it.

i dont see how xbox live is so muchhhhh better the only thing that it has the PSN doesnt that i want is cross game chat. As for things like lag PSN has less. In a game of Halo reach u can play a game with 8 ppl and the game can be really laggy the same goes for Gears of war, gears has a lot of lag and so does MW2. On PSN however i can play with 255 other players in MAG and experiance no screen freazing lag. So iMO   xbox live isnt worth it.

If anything, it's really only going to hurt them next gen.  MS may be doing well this gen because of Sony making many mistakes in the first year or so of the PS3's life, but believe me, Sony isn't going to let that happen again.  MS is going to have much stronger competition out of the gate next gen.  I mean if Sony comes out with their next system using similar tech that's in the PS3, albiet in advanced forms, the price for their next console is probably going to be around $300 - $400.  By this time Blu-ray will have carved an even better share in the media market.  Now let's say Sony keeps the same model they have for PSN.  Free for all, but one can subsribe to PSN Plus for added features.  And then both the PS4 and Nextbox comes out within 6 months of each other.  Which is everyone going to pick?  I'll guarantee you most will be picking up the PS4.
