So still no actual numbers on how much it sold and ps move still outselling it on amazon, something tells me neither supply nor demand is as wide spread as MS would have us believe

And then it all boils down to whether or not it has lag, which we will find out Nov. 4. I just can't wait for horror games on it; hopefully Penumbra and maybe an old style Resident Evil. I wonder how Haunt will be . . . |
Since when was Yourshape Fitness on anything but X360/Kinect? Are you guys gettign that game confused with EA's fitness game? Pretty sure Yourshape Fitness is a Kinect only game.
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

It hasn't even released yet. As far as I know amazon is sold out of pre orders so no one can buy it there any more. Could be wrong on the amazon part.

are or were all sold out. I think this is quite massive.
MS said 30,000 stores in the US will sell Kinect. 7,000 stores will have a midnight launch.
There will be more kinects in UK than Xbox 360s at launch. The Xbox 360 sold 70k consoles in 2 days in UK.
MS expected to sell 3 million Kinects in 2010.
So we get MUCH more data from MS than Sony for PS Move. All Sony said is: PS Move sales will be slow, but it will get somehow momentum.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

So you think preorders represent the entire stock that will be available on launch? Or even half? Let me give a comparison. Halo Reach, a week before launch, supposedly had just under 2 million preorders. Yet during the first week, it sold just over 4 million. And in all of that, with the exception of the Legendary editions, there was no talk of shortages, meaning that there was even more than that available on shelves. That's just Halo Reach. I'm sure there are examples of many other games with preorder numbers that dwarf their actual first week sales. Long story short? Don't put too much stock in preorder numbers representing first week sales or stock availability. |
And don't forget that KINECT is aimed at casual gamers and family gamers (is there a difference o_0) and they tend to not really pre-order things.

how the hell can you be sold out on preorders, preorders are what companies use to judge how many to ship, unless theres serious shortage of them being made I don't see how thats possible, so the sold out is definitely on the supply end of the chain

Again how the hell can you be sold out on preorders unless you aren't making enough, the "sold out" is on the supply end

Really? Then how many units is MS supplying to retail at launch?

Aren't making enough, or withholding units/promising only small supplies in the early pre-order stage to create buzz.
Isnt your shape fitness for the Kinect more or less just a port of the older wii game called "your shape" ?
they are both ubi games.
at least MS has Kinect Adventures and Kinect Sports to fall back on.
Also, at OP; the thread title should read; Microsoft working hard to create demand for the 360.
Of course they are working on producing the Kinect right now, but publicizing this through the mouth of Microsoft is simply marketing to create a buzz or hype around Kinect. Its what Microsoft continuously does in one phase or another. They are so aggressive it makes me want to just puke.
