I saw that Amazon has the Wii bundle that has Wii Sports Resort listed for $174.99. That's a great deal in my opinion but I was wondering if there was a reason for the sale? Does anyone know?

No it has not been announced and they will try not to do it till last moment, because then the people will just wait for it and not buy the console now. They will do it the same week it releases to minimize the sale loses, some retailers may know the date (or have a forecast) but will keep silent till the last minute.
