Are you really implying Watergate is less legitimate to get him on that list than something like Medicare? Watergate is more than enough, but feel free to add the economy tanking in the mid 70s and the Cambodian Incursion.

I'd say Vietnam was worse then Watergate... who got us out of Vietnam again?

As for bombing Cambodia... why are you blaming Nixon for that...?  The bombing of Cambodia started with Lyndon Johnson in 1965.    You know.  4 Years before Nixon was even President... Nixon was just following Johnson's lead.  You've just given stickball another reason for Johnson to be on the list.

As for economic policys... I don't see how you can blame Nixon for the stock market crash.  His Kensyian attempts to fix the problem didn't really help matters... but they were overall not as bad as the above mentioned economic mistakes.

If you want to blame anyone... it should be Johnson... once again due to vietnam.

Your anti-nixon talking points are really anti-Johnson talking points.

How about debate what I said, instead of making up what I said and then debating that? The bombing of Cambodia and the Cambodian Incursion are NOT the same thing. The Cambodian Incursion is directly responsible for heating up the Cambodian Civil War and arguably led to the Khmer Rouge gaining power, leading to the genocide of 2 million people.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

There is nothing to debate.  It was all a continiation of Lyndon Johnson's policy.  He was the one that gathered the information and sent troops cross border in the first place.  His generals suggested the plan that Nixon at first was against.

He was following the path Johnson set out for him.

It's on Johnson more then it is Nixon.

Go Ronald Reagan!!!!!!!

I believe he saved America.

clinton would be my next choice.  But Obama shouldn't be on the list - he hasn't finished his term and he hasn't had a chance to do ANYTHING significant yet.

Kasz, noname. Mind trimming the trees?

People that vote for Obama or Bush jr must be out of their minds, or are just joke voting.

I remember well the 70's and Jimmy Carter who did not believe that the USA could be exceptional. Long lines at the gas  pump. Terrorists laughing at america.

Ronald Reagan  stepped in and brought a sense of pride back to this country.

Sadly I feel the same sense of self hate coming back to this country now.  President Obama seems to be in the Carter vein.

Clinton seemed to have the same effect has Reagan

To reply to Kasz without having to trim the quote tree:

You're oversimplifying. It would be physically possible to have a contest of shooting skill and reasonably replicate the variables surrounding it in a controlled environment. It is impossible to do so for Presidential Administrations, or indeed for any historical anything (like saying: Hitler would've kicked Stalin's ass if it weren't for X or Y. Sure you can say that, but you have zero ability to prove it). You can't refine all variables down to a point and level the playing field to compare presidents objectively. It's based purely upon the positives, and anything else borders on revisionism
