You are saying that if someone is the most popular, they don't deserve any hate.

You are implying that a person deserves hate just because the work they produce doesn't conform to your tastes.

I'm saying a person deserves hate if they achieve success by exploiting a demographic who values the catchiness of the lyrics over the talent of the voice and music.

You're wrong. No person deserves hate for making things that people love.

That's incorrect. People may have loved Hitler's regime, but he still deserved hate.

Hate's a strong word. He doesn't deserve the success he has.

You just lost the debate, congrats.

Regardless. What I said was "no person deserves hate for making things that people love", italics on the operative phrase, here.

You have stated he deserves hate because he makes things that a certain demographic loves.

You are wrong. Find a more productive way to spend your mental energy.

That's precisely what I'm saying, don't know about everyone else.

He is an exploitation of teenagers, and women alike. He does not create his own music, and even if he did he does not even known about which the topics he's talking about unless he's gone throught about 10 more years of his life and somehow found a fountain of youth.

The media is going to milk him for every single cent he's worth and leave him out to dry once something new pops up. Possibly a few years later bring him up again and put him on a podium of filth just like they did with Britany Spears.

You think he "deserves" success?

A popular formula with these kids is to grab a good looking one who can somewhat sing and throw in a bit of Auto-Tune, shove tons of money up the ass of it and force the popularity on him by tailoring him to teens. Instead you have people out there creating their own music trying to scrape up whatever gigs they can get. Then if they're any good they need to have pitch perfect shows and have an IMMENSIVE amount of luck to even consider getting picked up. Instead this guy needed to show up and get money shoved down his throat? Yeah, really deserving.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

if you guys want to laugh, lets take a look at ourselves first :-d a lot of "mature" gamers act exactly like this , and even much more childish than this.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

I didn't say he deserved success.

Hatred aimed at him, though, is a reflection of the hater, not the object of hatred.

...didn't I say that hate was a strong word and very clearly stated I thought he didn't deserve the success?
