Forums - Sony - Move=500,000? + Japan prediction.

It's near 500k for sure. I think Move will have around 40 - 50k in it's opening week.

i'm not going to lie, half a million is pretty disappointing numbers.  i was really hoping this thing would take off.

no its not, half a million in like 2-3 weeks is great for an controller. how many PS3 controllers are sold a week(not including the ones that come with the system)

it will reach past one million soon which is great numbers for the controller

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Obviously Sony is leading a zero-stock policy: I wanted to buy a seond PS move and I made many differnt GameShop during a week before I find one. And the one where I find it only have ONE PSmove Which they receive the morning.

It means that Sony could sell more PSmove if they produce them more massivly. I don't understand this policy.....

it is definately a terrible policy. i remeber when god of war 3 lauched PS3s were nowhere in sight. If sony continues to do this then they will probably lose a lot of people to kinect.

The Move is also bundled with Start The Party, how much did that do?

What about Asia?

People from Latin America (like me) bought the move from Honk Kong and Koreans sellers on eBay (amazon doesn't make international shippings to LM).  I bought the Bundle that comes with Sport Champions from a Honk Kong seller and an extra Move controller from a Korean one.

Anybody tracking Asian sales?

Yes but Sony talked about Move as more then just a peripheral they said it was like a new platform. As a new platform 500k is pretty dissapointing, if Sony wants people to buy PSMove over Wii's they have to sell more then 500k launch month. They need at least a mill by the end of the first month and more after that.

I'd say if this thing hasn't sold 10-million units by spring 2012 then this is a failed product at least in terms of it being a new platform. Now if you want to lower your expectations to that of just another peripheral then 500k is pretty good. But I don't think Sony intended on it being just another peripheral, they wanted it to be in Pachter's words a WiiHD and that people would move over from the Wii to PS3.

no 500k for a new platform that next to no-one knows about is good, i'm getting fed up of this kind of rubbish, and nice way to set an impossible target for move that you know it most likely wont hit, just so you can call it a failure

What else are you supposed to call a platform that fails to outsell DreamCast.

New platform that no one knows about? No offence but where I live I saw about five Move commercials in an hour. They are all over the television. Then I went into Best Buy and FutureShop and the Move is advertised all over the stores. EBGames won't stop talking about how as a Wii owner I should buy Move. Michael Pachter said Move is WiiHD and told his investors it will replace Nintendo's Wii.

Infact I'd say Move is advertised way more the Wii ever has been, Kevin Butler won't stop slinging mud and his ads are everywhere. I even saw an aid near a train station. Now how is that a platform nobody knows about?

i'm not interested in setting minimum sales requirements for Move nor am i interested in creating excuses for why Move did or did not sell.

i'm only interested in one thing; will the Move continue to get software support?  it is too early to say anything for sure but when the top selling move game is crawling to half a million that doesn't make things look good for the future of this platform.
