I use a PS3 cooling fan on mine. it shoots out hot air like a jet engine, and  it actually makes my room warmer than useual lol. the best thing is, its very silent. I hardly hear it unless I really try

Can you take it to a computer repair shop? Or was there a specialty repair shop?

Google it: ps3 repair (....) and you will find your nearest one. I used this one - close to where I live: http://www.ps-pros.co.uk/

They also gave me engeneer report and i could claim money from retailer despite console being used for almost 3yrs.



fix it...and if PS2 games aren't that important to you, sell it ! cause BC units are valued. then buy a slim.
