| Teo said: FFXI didn't release with a AH because something about the economy, they are doing the same thing with FFXIV. I really don't know why this is needed. As for rating an MMO 2 weeks after release, its like rating a game after playing it for 30 minutes. They probably didn't even finish the first story mode mission. |
Because another game they made did isn't a good excuse and games shouldn't release broken. It's as simple as that.
Judging by your statement I'm going to assume you haven't played the game. Spend 30 minutes with the UI and then try to buy a specific item or even a specific type of item. You will absolutely understand the frustrations of everyone playing the game.
It's fine that an MMO doesn't release with non-critical things like airships, end game content, etc, but it's just embarrassing to release the game in its current state and absolutely unacceptable to release without the AH or some sort of search when it is needed as badly as the game needs it. There's no excuse for releasing this game in its current state, or at least no excuse for releasing the game in its current state and then ask people to be patient. SE needed to follow their own advice and delayed the PC version as well.
I know I said earlier that the game might be good in 4 months but I actually take that back after thinking about it for a few minutes. In 4 months it could be at a state it should have been two weeks ago. Just thinking about the massive amount of work needed to be done just so the game can actually be played is immense and I'm sure it's incredibly embarrassing for SE.
Of course I would rather be just embarrassed about the bad product than be punished for the bad product like everyone who bought this game has been.
