Do what I did. Do lots of LSD. Go skitzophrenic. Get social security disability. Free government money.

I can even get a job on top of that if I so choose!

Dealt with that.  Look at having a disability due to depression.  Had case go to court.  Had lawyer advice to withdraw case, because the courts would find I could do anything physical.  Besides the bear of having to go through a waiting period and several years.

Anyhow, can I ask for people PLEASE to be a bit more serious here regarding this.  And also, to take what I asking about with the group, to be the near opposite of people trying to evangelize.  I am looking to focus on people who want to be disciples of Jesus, and do what Jesus and rest of what the Bible says, in relations to career/vocation.  If this is not of interest, then the group wouldn't be a fit.  Not saying people can't be there, and I would like to help everyone, it is just I would personally be quoting Jesus and the rest of the Bible and other Christians, in the process.  One way to view this is to see people getting hired by Jesus and getting their life in order in the process.

Whilst I personally don't see why a support group about jobs would need a religious focus if thats what the OP wants to start then why not?

Furthermore saying its only for Christians is not racist. Christianity is not an ethnicity, it is a religion. How could it possibly be racist when religion is something you choose, can change or discard completely? Ethnicity is something that you CANNOT change, and had no CHOICE in regards to what ethnicity you are. Excluding people based on race is despicable for those very reasons, but an ideology or religion that wants to foster help for its own members is perfectly fine.

Whats next? Will people say its racist that an atheist organisation wouldn't allow a catholic priest to be the head of its organisation?

good luck,

and ignore the ignorant

My advice to all those unemployed is to simply get a job, below your qualifications if you have too. Once you're working, earning some money, getting out of the house. You'll probably feel better and it'll look better on the cv that you've been working instead of sitting at home.

Beyond that, simply use friends and contacts to get work. Sometimes its the only way to get a break. After I finished my degree (arts with a major in film) I was unemployed for about four months or so and I had about 8 paid freelance video jobs collapse in a row (thanks to everyone not wanting to spend much money at the moment for obvious reasons).  The first job I got was the family business, casual work two days a week. My second casual job I got about a month ago through a friend. The second job is for Sony working in their DVD/BR mastering department. That means I'm basically working on the releases of all of the big films. So now I have two casual jobs and I work the full 5 days a week.

All of which is from contacts, friends, family etc. Now that I work at Sony, it will be far easier to find a better job if one comes up because I have a lot of experience with a well known corporation.

The point of my post is simple, use every resource you have to get the job and if you can't get what you really want, settle for something a bit less since its still better then unemployment and government welfare.

Still on my first batch of unempolyment before tier 1. Trying to score a side/cash gig doing bartending, start stashing money away. Trying to find work but not in a deperate situation, still got like 70 something weeks left of UEB

Not really. We did a poll and Atheists were the second largest demographic behind Christianity if I remember correctly.

I will say this, the way it is laid out, the first part of sorting and discerning direction (along with the life management side), would be Christian specific.  However, there is a number of other parts that generally apply to anyone seeking to get a job.  I am looking a holistic approach.  What I found in what is going on is that normal employment focused solutions are just on the job hunting.  If, as likely in my case, you have issues that really limit what you can do, then you have to dig far deeper to what they are.  Myself being out of work over 3 years (20-30 hours tops) and then only being able to land a part-time janitor position, is a sign of things being very wrong.

My hope here is enough can be brought together to make a difference, even as far as having people be able to start a successful business.  I know, for example, some monks who happened to find a way to make money to pay the bills through raising and breeding dogs, because someone left them a pure bred German Shepherd puppy, which opened doors.  I do want to find stories like this, and get them out, along with other things that are needed.  You can see more about them here:
