Forums - Sony - The "make sure" formula for creating the right PS4...

Honestly, people should stop asking for Ps2 Backwards Compatibility...because it More than likely will Not happen...Ps3 Backwards Compatible should be a given, and Ps1, but 2 as of right now to work well, would require a hardware chip that is just another cost added in, and they want cheaper, not more expensive.

IMO, Upgrading CELL, Memory, HDD, and BD-ROM Reader would be a great stepping stone...More efficient power supply...cooling...Chassis....Done

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

  • 1) Should be capable of stereoscopic 3D gaming AT 1080p
  • 2) Good games at launch.
  • 3) Should be compatible with existing ps3 games and peripherals so people don't have to spend too much on new stuff.
  • 4) Full backwards compatibility: Software based in the case of PS2 and PS1, with capability to greatly improve the graphics as the PC emulators do.
  • 5) Classic games on PS store.
  • 6) Better late than expensive. $400 launch price at the most for the cheapest model.
  • I don't care too much about power efficiency or cosmetic design.

Have to understand, it's not even so much that they aren't trying now to get more Ps1 games on the PS Store as well...it's the licensing issues, the same reason why many older TV shows don't make it to DVD...They have to get the producers to pay the voice actors, the animators, the developers in general...they have to do a whole lot of steps to get a game on there that isn't first party as well, because those 3rd party developers have to Want their games on there and think that they'll make enough money to cover the costs of paying everyone for a re-release

Some guys like them slim I like my bitches phat. Go PS3 phat!

Actually, I like real women to be skinny.

You can't ask to much or its impossible for it to be reasonably priced. My main demand is that they prepare a lot more exclusives at launch than last time.

Don't try to be a technical and graphical marvel (it didn't help n64,xbox or ps3)

Offer a selling point besides 3D, Blu-Ray and Move

No more than two SKU's please (anymore and Joe Consumer will be hopelessly confused)

Make custom soundtracks available in EVERY game

Launch price should not exceed 400USD

Stay non-proprietary (it's very consumer friendly)

Make sure it's dirt simple to program forand don't expect people to buy it just because it's a PS4. Justify the system and emphasize it's value( besides Blu-Ray and 3d). Give people a reason to want/need it.

1080p at 60i in 3d is a given, so is 2GB of Ram or more, an updated CELL and GPU.

I really hope it includes an SSD for game cache data & the OS so games and XMB run/load very quickly

Great games when released, not after 2 years.

Take my love, take my land..

To be consumer friendly doesn't earn you money.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

True, if they'd made all their accessories themselves, like M$ did, they'd have made alot more money. And sense they already produce most of those items anyway, it wouldn't have cost them very much.

But being non-proprietary gives consumers more control & options and gives Sony a major edge over M$

You guys are being masters of the obvious.

Of course improvement on every front is always a goal for every hardware maker. Even the wii is a slighty improvement from the gamecube.
