Lol each to their own

Believe me, if I thought a new 3D Tv will benefit me in any way, id buy it. I have the money to spend on toys like that.

In fact I was considering getting a Samsung when they started bundling glasses with them, but the fact that they are incompatible with PC 3D, don't do 1080p for gaming and have high amounts of visible ghosting kills the deal for me.

Nvidia is going to release 3D drivers for the new TVs sometime in November. If they allow them to work in 3d surround (3 TVs combined to give 1 very widescreen image) I will definetly conder getting them again. 3 X 46 inches in 3d would be pretty badass, even if it only 720p per screen.

I checked the manual. It says in the 3d section that the resolution for hdmi pc is 1920x1080. Ive seen some ghostling in the Avatar game but none or very small in other games and movies.

Its only 1920x1080 for bluray in 3D. Gaming is 720p per eye. It has to do with HDMI chips in the TV not having enough hz to process the bandwith needed for 60 hz 1080p 3D. Bluray works cause its only 24 hz. Some people have made hacks to play games at 1080p and 24 hz using IZ3D drivers...but it looks terrible.

As far as ghosting...Its not bad by any means, but I can notice on a lot of occasions. If I don't concentrate i dont see it, but knowing that its there, I actually look for it...lol

3D gaming is the latest buzz lately, and this buzz isn't going to subside as people actually start to play these games. The problem is that the present HD consoles, in order to display games in 3D, will display the games with a noticeable drop in fidelity. And in order to see the game in 3D, you need one of those expensive 3D TVs.

To the rescue comes... The PC!!!

New PCs have the horsepower to render 3D without loss

AND

3D capable screens for PC are much, much more affordable

I predict that more and more 3D enabled games will come to the PC as well, and more and more gamers will go back to the PC for such games, as this will be the affordable way (and in some ways, possibly the best way) to play games in 3D.

Discuss!

If you don't think people want to pay the price for a 3DTV why do you think they'll want to pay the price for a 3D gaming computer setup?

Bceause PC GAMING IS KING and console gaming is EPIC FAIL!... look at all your gramatical errors lolz lolz lozl lolz...

(sarcasm)

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

Because entry price is much, much lower. Most people have a PC already, they just need to upgrade some parts of it.

And your point is?

I'm still not interested in 3D for anything at this point. Most games I've seen that are in 3D lately feel like it's forced onto a game and not naturally there. I'm waiting for 3DS to see if it increases the gaming experience, because even with the 3DS I don't think that i will use the 3D feature much.

bah, PC gaming doesn't need a rebirth. Your only looking at console developers and big companies. PC arena has never been about the big companies it's about everyone equally. It's the PC even in this day and age where small teams can make it big. No sir. You are wrong. There will be no rebirth. It's just to active.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

It is not user friendly.

And one thing is surely better: as a PC is mainly intended for a single person at once, I can see the 3D glasses free screens for PC's getting cheap at some point compared to the big ass TV's where people usually hook up their consoles.
