Hmm.  I never thought about it.  And to be honest, I wouldn't know how to count some of them.  Is Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, and Yoshi's Island part of the same series?  Are multiple copies of the same game like Tomb Raider Legend or Mario 64 applicable?  Are the Acclaim WWF games part of the same series as the THQ WWE games?  Do I count all of the versions of games that may be included with other games like MGS1 and 2 on my copy of Subsistance or the original Mario Bros. that came with every version of the GBA Mario games?  How about the several versions of Tetris that I have from several different companies on several different systems?

My answer:  I don't know.

For Mario - I would count all the main games like Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World(Yoshi's Island would be SMW 2 I guess), 64, Sunshine, Galaxy.

I wouldn't count multiple copies, If you have Subsistence and MGS:3 Snake Eater it would just be 1.

I think the wrestling games would be different series.

For tetris.. use your best judgment :P

I have 12 Call of Duty games: 6 on the Xbox 360, 5 on the PS3, and 1 on the Wii.  I own two copies of COD Classic, 3, 4: Modern Warfare, and Modern Warfare 2.  I own 3 copies of COD: World at War and 1 copy of COD 2.  Yeah, I know it's a little too excessive to own multiple copies of the same game, even if it's on different platforms.  I think I'm going to trade in a few of them that I don't play any more.

My top five:

The Legend of Zelda - 9 games (11 if I can count multiple versions of the OoT and MM)
Super Mario - 8 games
Final Fantasy - 7 games (though I've only played half of them =/)
Metal Gear Solid - 6 games
Command & Conquer - 5 games
