The kart racer, with its track creator and roster of hundreds of thousands of user-created courses, is now easier to get into than ever before. Effective immediately, the game is now available for $40 on PS3 and $20 on PSP, with the PSP price being cut in half.

This deal is good both in stores and online notes the official PlayStation Blog. Interestingly, however, despite the price drop, the game hasn't been blessed with Greatest Hits status. Traditionally Greatest Hits games sell for $30, and have usually sold a fair number of copies to earn that moniker from Sony. Perhaps it's too early for ModNation Racers to be Greatest Hits as it released this spring.

Surely this is a bad thing! If modnation racers price has dropped it means it isn't selling very well! This game truly deserves to sell at least a couple of million!

Bad news for game-profitability.

i'm sure Sony didn't expect the best of sells. i'm sure there will be a sequal! atlease i hope there will?

look at the time of yr they released the game. i was shocked by it personaly. the best chance it had was a fall release, but i think it will see 1m units sold and a sequal.

The potential sales really got screwed by 3 racing games in one month. I think it'll hit 1m lifetime by word of mouth.

The game underperformed sales wise i n my openion. This game should have been a million seller long time ago.

im sure the game would have sold more if sony didnt release it beside red dead
