Forums - Sony - My PS3 Phat no longer supports SD cards

And it has a f'n SD Card slot!  I use it all the top to trade music, videos, and pictures with my cell phone.  Now I have to rely on the USB port  which is usually hit or miss.  Without the SD card support, videos that I record with my phone can't be viewed on my TV.  I can still port videos from my PS3 to my phone with no problem, though.  Memory sticks work just fine.  I wonder if my PS2 memory card reading device still works.  I'm too lazy to find out right now.  Well that's a fine how-do-ya-do!

That was a big reason why I went with the Droid 2 over a Droid X, though.  I liked being able to watch cell phone recorded movies on my TV.  Looks like Sony isn't bullshitting around.

I just used mine last night with out issue, I wonder why you got a problem.

your SD card might be broken, it works fine here.

is it the firmware? Or the card broken like other people stated. Or maybe the port could be broken as well.
If  it's firmware thats's annoying by sony

and if it is. maybe you can get this

You can get a dongle that plugs and SD card into the dongle that has a usb port to stick in the ps3.
I'd guess it would work like a USB thumb drive. I have a produo dongle that I used to see pictures from my sony camera... haven't tried it since the update though.

I nearly shat myself, i hadn't checked it since the firmware update. Fortunately, mine still works... that's odd.

that would be the stupidest thing sony ever did, since PSP relies on SD and the easiest way to transfer stuff is through that.

Well I agree it's stupid if that happened.
The PSP is pro duo though. Atleast the PSP-1000 that I have sony's propietary format.
but doesn't PSP, and PS3 talks to eachother :D cause you have to click connect on the psp... or ps3 I forget.

But anyways... the information still applies, because it's possible if his card isn't broken, he broke the port... somehow. Or he's just confused :P

We'll call it a fluke for now.  Mine doesn't work, still.  The orange light comes on, blinks for a se@ond, and goes back off.  But if you guys aren't having problems, I assume it's just me.  I have a card adapter.  I used it to copy my Wii card to my PC.  I'll give it a shot tomorrow after work.
