Forums - Sony - Madden 2011 Undertracked on PS3 Update Coming?

Now bear with me, I know that NPD uses a similar tracking style to vgchartz but there is a rather large discrepancy between their numbers and ours. 

The August edition  of NPD has PS3 version of Madden 2011 at 893.6k units. Now if you add that number which is just for the US to vgchartz tracking numbers since 9/04 then Madden would be at 1,046.4k units well above the 977k listed.

However, when you consider that VGchartz had Madden's ww sales at 850k units while NPD had only the US at 893.6 you begin to ask is Madden 2011 on PS3 actually above 360 at 1.16m. 

Now consider NPD had 360 US sales at 920k while VGchartz had them world wide at 1.02m. I would say that 100k WW is reasonable difference for Madden 2011. 

I believe that Madden 2011 on PS3 numbers should be equal to 360's WW. Agree, Disagree let me know.

Yes I would agree these numbers seem way off to me. I also want to know why the Rock Band EMEAA numbers are still missing. 

Oh well at least we know the truth. I am also sure so does EA.

If Halo was undertracked the thread would have a 100 posts by now. Whats up with that.

Thanks man but I think it is clear that people do not care whether or not Madden in undertracked. Then again if it happened on 360 I wonder if we would have got a different response.

You have to be kidding.  The ONLY threads we get about undertracking are relating to the PS3 and/or its games.

I just want to know why Halo Reach got a 50k adjustment on week 1 and Madden with evidence of higher sales has remained the same. I just expect some parity from this website. All systems should be treated equal in terms of sales.

People hate Madden on this site for some reason. I'm guessing because its American football and this site is mostly Non-Americans

There have been plenty of historical adjustments for all consoles and many different games from all consoles.

You are saying the site is biased.... it isnt. 

Guess which console has been most habitually 'undertracked' when compared to NPD monthly releases...?  the 360.

It happens, it isnt due to some bias, its just the nature of tracking and statistics.


I didn't suggest any bias from the site, users definitely but not the site. I just wanted to know why Halo could get a adjustment in under a week and Madden has yet to get one in 7 weeks.
