Forums - Microsoft - FIRST Kinect TV Ads Revealed!! (3 of them!)

Are these commercials meant to be the actual ones for launch or just ones to kind of get the idea out there? I mean these seem designed to get people interested in the concept "Oh you are the controller, that sounds interesting", and then closer to launch I imagine they'll have more ads that show more of the gameplay...well I'd hope so anyway otherwise it'd kind of end up like Move at launch, all interesting concept no real selling point/killer app

Those were terrible, especially after the 'Deliver Hope' commercial for Reach was just on my TV. I find it amazing how well amazing the Halo commercials have been and the Kinect commercials are extremely lacking. I know the target audience isn't the same, core gamers versus casual/non-gamers but the Kinect commercials don't show enough gameplay.

Do you expect a live action/CGI trailer to accompany these kinds of games? I really have to wonder why people think Microsoft would market this like a Halo/Gears title, which by the way, never have shown any gameplay as well.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

They are bad. I can't really put my finger on it, but like Reasonable said, MS seems to be marketing the concept rather than the games, and I have a hard time following exactly what is happening since all that is shown are people playing some mystery game and then a quick flash of the game.

It just doesn't work for me.

I have to say that this commercial totally blows away those kinect ads in terms of telling people how fun playing with motion controls can be.

I know this is unrelated, but the puffy haired guy at the beginning of this video was in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Lets just say that the show had him doing things not quite as innocent as playing Wii Sports Resort.......

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

LOL @ the Nintendogs add.

That's an outstandingly bad commercial.

As for the other ones, I think its ok. The Wii Sports one has a glimpse of gameplay at the end that fits perfectly with the actor movements.

They could have done a better catch phrase to make people realize the high techness of the camera, imo.  You are the controller... like in Eye Toy...

Hmmmm....

Good commercials, very similar to original wii ads and will should appeal to the target audience.

Speaking of Gears commercials I can't wait to see a Gears 3 commercial. Gears commercials are always the most epic. Even more epic than Halo's commercials.

So Microsoft goes front and center with all the stuff people here think is stupid, looking absurd doing motion control.  If the ads work and causes large sales, shows what the core gamer really knows.  Of the three ads, I think the Sports one is best, because it is kinda cool seeing the choppy motion with the music.  Kinectimals ad is terminally cute though.

exactly.

Teaser ads, and let's assume these three are, are meant to tease and generate interest in what is to come.

Those are bad ads. But in Microsoft's defense, it isn't easy to make good ads for what they have in Kinect.

Nice stealth troll.
