Sega Announces Phantasy Star Online 2 For PC

Even though Sega neglected to bring the confetti, the kazoos, and the fireworks to the floor of Tokyo Game Show 2010, it's managed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Phantasy Star Online in a radical and meaningful way. How, you ask? By announcing a brand installment in the long-running MMO-ish franchise called Phantasy Star Online 2.

Details are lighter than air, despite the recent appearance of an official site, but it is known that PSO 2 will be a PC game set for release at some point in 2011.

Siliconera reports that Phantasy Star brain Satoshi Sakai is calling PSO 2 a "true successor," and more importantly, a "completely new work." And here I was thinking that Sega was just rereleasing a PSP classic under this game's name. Shucks.

its kinda sad that it may be PC only, but screw it, its bought.

i wonder too, actually, i thought HD Console Games of the PS Series may be not working out financially, but PSO2 will be, most likely a game that can be called HD (in terms of the Graphics itself, not just the Resolution :p), so why not porting it to the Consoles?..

actually, i DO hope it will be released on 360 or PS3 later (even if 360 is unlikely, because of the XBL limitations) but whatever, a bought game is bought. :) i dont care if i have to buy it for PC, or can enjoy it on PS3.

But nevertheless, i hope they stay traditional with it, i didnt like 'PS Universe' very much, or, better said, i didnt like it as much as i loved PS Online.

they did release one on Xbox 360, but not PS3, i find it weird considering the fanbase

yeah, but 'when' did it come out? As far as i know, FFXIV isnt coming due to the restrictions made for MMOs by Microsoft, but FFXI was released because the 360 was, back then, a new System, hadnt those restrictions before,  and wanted to gain profit and/or Reputation out of it, to make a good start.

there's a good but read about that @ Examiner.com ( http://www.examiner.com/video-game-news-in-atlanta/final-fantasy-xiv-canceled-for-xbox-360-because-of-live-restrictions )

but well, the more i want to understand, the more confused am i. :<
