Forums - Microsoft - INSANE Halo Reach Stats, this stuff is seriously crazy!

That is seriously unbelievable that a game in 4 days generated over 1,300 years of gameplay on just campaign.

Multi and single player combined add up to 2,500 years in four days.

That is mind blowing.

953 "Man Years" is only 8,348,280 hours. Let's say that around 4,000,000 people bought the game - which is probably true up to last Friday - that's only 2 hours per person in the entire week!

I don't trust that particular statistic.

Don't trust my math?

953 years * 365 days/year = 347,845 days.

347,845 days * 24 hours/day = 8,348,280 hours.

Voila! Really odd statistic there, I'd expect at least 5-6 hours average per player over the course of a few days (not per day, but cumulative).

You do realize that not everyone who buys the game has online right...........

your calculations are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY off.

At these moments I see how gaming is actually a loss of time.

Wow that's like...16,000 hours in dog years!

These can only represent the time people played while actually online.  In my house 2 of my 3 sons dont have live accounts yet so they play offline.  Sure they arent the only ones.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

800k people playing online now, I wonder if it can get 1 million!!

That's a good point, and one I hadn't thought of - though I'm not sure you need to be terribly rude about it.

Also - why in God's name would you buy Reach without Live!?

Good point though

If I was rude about it you got my sincere apologizes, for real.  I don't try to offend anyone on the site I'm usually a very balanced poster.

Just read too much into your post and thought you were trying to undermine Reach's sales but I see now that you weren't trying to do that at all.

Thanks for the apology! No harm no foul

It would take a true idiot to try to undermine Reach's sales. Pretty sure it had the biggest opening of all time, right!? Sad this is I'm sure there's people out there determined to say "aww it wasn't that big!"
