Forums - Gaming - You can't play that franchise

Super Smash Bros and Mario Party.

I've played Super Smash Bros on many occasions (the one GC and the one on Wii) and I just can't get into it and find it boring.

As for Mario Party, I like the concept of the game and I do enjoy some of the mini games in it, but the randomness (or player assist) of it drives me insane! You can be ahead of everyone else by a large margin the whole game, only to have half of your stars stolen in the last three turns due to random rolls of the die. Then when all of the turns are over and extra stars are awarded, they're almost always awarded to the players who are behind for random reasons. I've lost many times despite being in the lead for most of the game because one player stole stars and/or was 'awarded' three extra stars at the end.

I don't like anything that's popular. If it's popular and everybody else likes it,I don't. lol

FIFA and PES - I can never get the hang of them. I'm the player basically shouting at the TV that "I did't fucking tell him to do that!" very loudly before being trounced yet again. I also have little use for anything involving fighting so Street Fighter and the like are no go for me too.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Gears of War - I played the first one a few times and didn't really like it (before i had a 360) but decided to give Gears 2 a chance anyways and buy it and I didn't like it either. Played it maybe 2 weeks and traded it back in.

ICO - Didn't like it at all. Maybe it was because I was younger and played games for the gameplay and not the whole story experience as well as gameplay like I do now, but the gameplay sucked IMO. And I never played SoTC.

MGS - Bought MGS4 because I heard it was amazing (10/10 on IGN) but it was a HUGE disappointment for me. The gameplay was fun but as a newcomer to the series I had no idea what was going on with the story and like 95% of the game is cutscenes. It seems like a game that's great for people who are already MGS fans but not someone just looking for a fun game to pick up.

Bioshock - Simply didn't like it that much, no real major reason, just wasn't my thing

Fighting games - Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc. I just don't find them that fun. Maybe its just cause I suck at them and can't pull of the ridiculously complicated combo attacks, I don't know.

God of War - I've only played GOW1 and Chains of Olympus and I found both of them really lame. They're repititve as fuck. In CoO you can basically beat the game by mashing buttons, with the exception of "boss battles"

Halo - They're great, well made games, but I don't like the online play and that's basically what is the best thing about Halo. I guess I'm just used to Call of Duty how enemies drop in about 2-5 bullets (depending on gun and if its a headshot or not) but Halo you can put an entire clip into a guys back and have him turn on you and kill you which annoys the hell out of me (and I know you're supposed to aim for the head for quick kills). Plus I hate how the first thing enemies do when you see them is jump backwards and throw a grenade down, just the whole game kinda annoys me.

Music Games - Self Explantory. The only difference between GH1 and GH5 is drums and vocals which are both copied from Rock Band. I don't like Rock Band either.

Battlefield Bad Company - You really notice the 20FPS after being spoiled by 60FPS in Call of Duty. Also I hate the whole feel of the character's movement and the shooting mechanics. The one positive is it has dedicated servers on consoles but the trade off is there are no lobbies, you always join games in progress which is stupid.

Mass Effect - I might give it another chance when it comes to PS3 but I played the first one on 360 and I couldn't get into it.

Forza - I played Forza 2 a bit cause it came with my console and all I could think when I was playing it is "this isn't as good as Gran Turismo"

Dead Space - Just didn't like it, not my type of game

Well that's about it for the popular games I don't like for whatever reason. I tried to be unbiased. I have games that are exclusive to both PS3 and 360.

I can play every franchise!  It's the benefit of owning all current consoles!!

But I don't really like RTS, Sim Racing, NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB, or gritty Dungeon Crawlers.

Yes, I can't play sports game, doesnt feel right, and also: music games. Guitar Hero and Rockband, I cant.

BioShock I guess. I never made it off the first level because I was so confused of where to go. Maybe I should try it again.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Street Fighter and Tekken, which is why i find the idea of crossing them over to be still more nauseating

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Pretty much any sim racing game, I can't stand those.  I don't think there's any other genre I just flat out hate though fighting games do generally annoy (but that's because of the people).

Basically every racing simulation game, Madden, and (I know a lot of people might hate me for this.) every JRPG this gen, except for Super Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and the Choron Trigger remake on the DS. (Haven't played Demon's Souls, though.)
