Forums - Microsoft - IGN: How far has Kinect Come in a year?

Here is a reflection of Kinect posted on IGN today.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1121180p1.html

IGN has a pretty positive opinion of the advances Kinect has made in a year and the quality of the game builds being demoed at TGS.  They seem to understand that game developers have to take a different approach to game creation and that the launch titles are just the beginning of whats possible on Kinect.

I figured I post a positive Kinect article for those of us who are generally interested in Kinect and look forward to what it has to offer in the future.  Hopefully this thread can stay a positive place for us instead of the hate threads that have been plaguing Kinect recently.

"You can't spell ignorant without IGN!11!"

Who cares, an angry Swedish man posted an article on how it sucks on a no name website. It's probably more legtimate than IGNorant11!11

I'm not looking to bash on anyone one poster in particular, although I read that thread as well.  It would just be nice to have a thread without all the hate for those of us who actually enjoy video games, not company loyalty.

That's very very very difficult on this site unless it relates to Nintendo, which no one seems to care about except the Nintendo fans.

Good luck with that part.

Nice little article too. I'm optimistic that as time goes on we'll be seeing better games. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that the current line up is whats keeping me from getting Kinect. I really do want to say," Xbox play" and so on but I want some good games too. 2011 will probably be my time to get Kinect.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I just ignore the hate threads. My wife does't like video games, but when she saw Dance Central she said  "I want to play that" - so it looks like I'm getting one. :D

The games at TGS yesterday are a big step in the right direction.  I'm probably one of the few that agrees with Microsoft's casual friendly game launch with Kinect.  The early adopters will purchase it based on it's potential and it being new tech.  Kinect has struck a chord with the mainstream media and with a family friendly line up at launch, it could lead to big sales this holiday.  Then, they follow up with the core games the following year to continue the momentum.  It may or may not work, but it seems like a pretty sound strategy to me.

IGN are positive about everything that isn't Nintendo.

Even new Dante.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I see this as a positive... I mean PS move is officially coming out tomorrow. I could have bought it on the beginning of this week actually...but you could have fooled me that it isn't cause I don't see much press attention for it.

Yet Natal still gets the press...good and bad...but is months away from being released.

For more hardcore games Kinect will more likely be used with a controller. Yet this very thing will take away  the whole  advantage Kinect has over Move and Wii-mote.
