Forums - Sony - Price of Move in EU, Which of These Countries is Cheapest? Work Trip

Netherlands

Denmark

Belgium

I'm coming to Eurpoe for a work trip for 2 weeks in October. I'm wondering if prices for electronic stuff in Europe is cheaper than here in New Zealand. So given I'm planning to get Move I was wondering if I should take the opportunity of buying over there.

Not sure of stopovers yet. We either fly through USA (LA) or Singapore or Hong Kong so possibility of picking up Move duty free too (maybe cheapest in SG or HK? Flying Air NZ (which my organisation does  corporate business with them, unfortunately no business class for me) it could go either way. Would prefer to go through SG as they have a realy nice transit area.

So here's the price for Move in NZ:

Move starter pack (I need to pick up one of these for my niece and nephew) DOESN'T come with sports champs only a demo disc: RRP $99 some deals for $95 = 52-54 Euro

Move controller (will need to pick up maybe 3 of these, 2 for me and one additional for the niece and nephew): RRP $65 = 36 Euro

Nav Controller (will probably buy one for niece and nephew, nephew is a HUGE MAG fan and is really looking forward to patching it for Move, but I'll hold of for me and see how I cope with the DS3): RRP $49  = 27 Euro

So, am I going to find it for significantly cheaper in Europe? Or am I best to see what's available duty free in my stopover destination? or are the prices so similar that I might as well get it at home.

Going through USA (assuming I can get to a dutry free place at the airport since it will only be a few hour's stopover) means I could buy the starter pack WITH sports champs which would be good, and at $99 US that certainly beats buying the NZ Move starter pack + paying for sports champs seperately.

You're going to try to kill their bees like you have in New Zealand.

I would try to stop you if I only knew how...

OT: Its probably not much cheaper and you don't get a warranty...

Tease.

Here in the UK the Move controller is £29.99, the Navi is £17.99 so not bad pricing here. The bundle is £44.99 for the Move, Camera and demo disk.

Got my 2 Moves and charging station coming to me tomorrow

To elaborate on that, here in Ireland it's €59.99 for the Move Eye Demo Disc (though a lot of retailers are pricing it at €54.99 to try and get all the sales), while the Move/Navi are €39.99 and €29.99 respectively. Gamestop are doing the Starter Pack for €54.99, but are also throwing in Sports Champions for free on top (that might only be in Ireland though, I'm not even sure if other European states have GameStops).

Off-Topic(ish): I'll also be getting my Move tomorrow :)

Just be aware, hardware prices in UK and Hong Kong are relatively similar... I know that there is essentially no difference in price  with the Dualshock 3, of course currency exchange comes into play.
