All hype for tekken died when it was announced as multi plat? wth? it didnt sell as well because it was outdated a bit namco waited to ling for it to release and thats why hype was lost Though it has sold almost 2.5 million combined . Also i have never heard of a game selling more because it was on one platform instead of two. can you even statistacly prove that to be true im wondering.

The game was finished in 2007... Can you guess one of the reasons why it came out so late?

Can you prove that more than one platform equals a more chances of profits? Cause one thing that DOES NOT have to be proved and is a SURE FACT is that developing on more than one console means:

Longer development time/More resources
Higher Budget

you know whats also a fact? that if namco didnt make tekken 6 multiplatform it would have sold less as theres no way all 820,000 people that bought tekken for xbox 360 have a ps3 and its a gurantee that all of them would not have bought a ps3 for tekken.  And no i cant think of why it came out so late i personally thought it took way to long.

No...

And the main reason why it came out so late was moving to multiplatform set up. The game was finished in Nov 2007 for arcades and the updated BR version which we got as just "Tekken 6" on Dec 2008. The arcade unit used to develop the game was based around the PS3.

In short, the UPDATED PS3 version was completely finished a year before the game was released... The regular version which they could have released [since Tekken 5 and Tekken5DR proves that Tekken fans don't mind an update later on, ala SFIV to SSFIV] was finished 2 whole years before the game was released.

"it didnt sell as well because it was outdated a bit namco waited to ling for it to release and thats why hype was lost" - I rest my case.

This is pure, Sonycore driven speculation.  I've never seen any word from anyone at Namco that the 360 SKU delayed the release a full year, and honestly the logistics of that would imply the Tekken team's pretty incompetent if true.  Project Soul had no problem getting the multiplatform SC4 out in a timely manner, or SC2 last gen on even more platforms.

Did Profect Soul's game start as a PS3 exclusive with the 360 version not even being announced until the original version was finished? And what speculation? I provided links to back me up. Tekken 6 PS3 was finished in late 07, Tekken6BR finshed in late 2008. There's no localization for tekken games other than menus and text. All characters in every region speak one original language. If you're telling me that took a year ...

"So is Tekken 6 a PlayStation 3 game, or an arcade game? The answer will likely be both! The game will debut sometime in 2007 as the first arcade game to use a new arcade board based off the PlayStation 3 hardware. News of a PS3-based arcade board is news in of itself, as it's the first time such a project has been mentioned. Presumably, ports to the PS3 itself will be simple, meaning Tekken 6 is as good as confirmed for home release. "

None of the sources you listed cite anything even remotely about a 360 caused delay, bar the wiki article intro which is also wholly unsourced and speculative (and will probably get changed, knowing wiki standards).  It's pure fanboy invention.

Namco never said it, that's for sure.  Though if a 360 port took them a whole year, they'd probably be ashamed to admit it.

Anyone who thinks demon's souls is a hard game is not a "hardcore" gamer (which you would consider yourself no?). That game takes 5 hours to beat after your first play through.

Smart move.  From's last PS3 exclusive action RPG kinda bombed on them.

Not really. They said it sold better than they expected. Not sure how to take that besides it didn't bomb. :P

And this doesn't rule out a Demon's Souls 2 either, which would obviously be a PS3 exclusive.

this is Demons Souls 2. Get over it fanboy. I doubt anyone cares of DS 2 being exclusive, except for sony fanboys like yourself. Smart choice for them to make it multi-platform

No offence bro but the title clearly states: Project Dark.
I do believe we'll get to see a Demon Souls 2 in the future to be honest.

Its similar to demon souls and has the same target audience, but it is no Demon Souls 2 unless the game is actually called.. Demon Souls 2 xD. (I don't doubt its greatness though xP )

Uhhh...

1) No it's not. Worked on a new IP based on the old.
2) That's a bannable offense you just commited...

Agree with Imu & CGI x]

Does anyone have a legitimate source saying that Sony owns the Demon's Souls IP? I think i've seen one before but can't remember

Sig thanks to Saber! :D
