Forums - Microsoft - Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is coming to Kinect

Yeah...I'm not feeling this one if it's Kinect only.

Again, for people who need buttons (and I'm one of them) SB2 will have optional controller support.

That's not good enough.

Yeah, that's completley missing the point of the franchise which was the giant-ass controller. This is an absolutely ridiculous idea. There are dozens of mediocre mech games out there. Only Steel Battalion felt real. I'll never forgive those involved with making this game. It's one of the biggest disappointments this entire generation to me.

Okay, I understand for mech fetishists, you won't have your giant controller with flip lid eject button and whatnot... I was just trying to brings things back a bit from the people going crazy with predictions like the game will be on rails or whatever nonsense.  If this ends up being "only" as complex as something like say Chromehounds, I won't mind that much to be honest.

I don't imagine that you would mind, but did you play the first Steel Battalion? The whole point was it being a pain-staking sim.

Nope, I never had an Xbox 1.  It was one of the games I'd have gotten if I did though. :(

I'm going to say from that video, it will be on rails.  Have you ever seen that one video game in arcade rooms where you bring the sights to your face and move the camera left to right, up and down?  Well this game should be alot more easier to use, because of the voice communication that will make it simple.  I really do see this utilizing voice commands more than anything.

Looks promising, like a real hard core game for the Kinect.

I wasn't even thinking of getting a Kinect...  This has me kind of upset and confused.  I NEED MONEY!!!

V:  And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence.
