They make a fair point that PS2 compatibility raises system costs, but this would be something only people interested in playing PS2 games on the PS3 will be buying.

Seams fairly feasible, a ps2 doesn't take much space if you take out PSU and the DVD.

I would really like it if such an adaptor was made. Not that it's THAT necessary, since a PS2 is readily available for under 100$ now.  But the fact is, most people here are playing on 1080p sets.  And PS2 games look ike crap  on those (lots of jaggies and/or overly blurry).

Having the PS3 upscale the resolution and maybe provide some added filtering, would make PS2 games on those HD sets much more enjoyable.

I'd buy a PS2 compatibility adaptor for $50 (NZ). But that's about the limit I'd be prepared to pay.

I'd personally be prepared to pay around $50-60 (USD), provided it's either region-free or a Japanese one can work on a US PS3 to play Japanese PS2 games (since my PS3 seems to be fine with most of my US PS2 games and I only have 2 PAL titles).
