Anyone whos actually played it wouldnt say that


Have played and beat every Halo exceot for ODST. and it sucked balls(C.E. story mode).

Because it is nothing special. The reason people like it so much is because MS hyped it to hell and back, it was the only thing on the xbox with any mainstream appeal that was decent, and because a lot of them had never played an fps before. Certainly not a PC one.

Ill give you that CE is better than killzone 1 but thats simply because it isn't glitchy as hell. Which seems to be the only criteria for console shooting games. Does it run? Yes. Do you shoot things? Yes. 10/10 GOTY. 

I've played FPS games on PC's since Wolfenstein 3D, cannot stand people acting snobbish and elitist regarding console FPS games.  Seriously it was boring in 2001 and it's still boring now. 

Console fps games are fun little diversions, and I play them. But none of them have been truly groundbreaking like so many people insist. 

I do agree that not many are ground breaking so perhaps I jumped the gun a little with you but Halo CE really was at the time.  Perhaps the difference is that I see the advances they've made with the Halo series in terms of the customisation they've tried to provide to give the multiplayer some of the flexibility PC gamers have taken for granted due to the mod scene. 

In some ways I see where you're coming from but I think the issue isn't the games being overrated by the console reviewers but PC reviews being too harsh.  I don't see the point of PC magazines running to a scale of 100 or 10 if they're never going to award that score, we all know there is no such thing as perfection so why only rate games out of 1-9.  You may as well use the 10 too and let the text of the review highlight the minor criticisms that stop it being perfect.

I'm curious to hear how the story in Halo 3 is so superior to the story in Halo 1.

EDIT: And there are a lot of things in the Halo 3 campaign/story that are obvious throwbacks to Halo 1.

It's cool that you would have this opinion, but you know, defend it, please.

What about the story didn't you like? Why would you say that a story that has spawned multiple books, 4 games in the same universe and more on the way "sucked balls"?

I'm not saying you can't have this opinion, I'm saying that it's easy to diss a game off-handedly (Halo sucks!) as opposed to having honest concerns about the story. 

Now I'm not asking you to do anything I wouldn't: if I voiced my opinion on what games story I think sucked, I'd be willing to defend it.

Well yes, actually they were groundbreaking for a console. PC games are a completely different animal and cannot truely be compaired to console games.
