I gave Halo credit for being basically the FPS of its time. But overall the game isn't that good. However the online was fun for its time as well.

Now I know you haven't played it.

lol... excellent.

So basically this thread is yet another stealth troll?

So? I have a few games in my collection that I still haven't played.

BTW I have the PC version and not the Xbox version.

Ah, well that explains the online. Still, if you want the full experiance, the way it was intended to be, play it on a console.

It's easy to assume that given the timing. One thing is for sure, it attracted a buttload of trolls...who, consequently, look like a buttload, if you get my drift.

Well, on PC (at launch on PC) I thought it was good but the flaws did show: repetitive levels, lack of variety in gameplay and so on.

But... I think the SP campaign was overall very good, particularly the attention to narrative flow and the build to the finish.

Some levels were very good though, even if others were simply corridor crawls with horribly repeating identikit components.

But... this was a function of the title clearly being rushed to get out on Xbox as soon as possible.

So, is it flawed?  Yes, but at launch it was great on Xbox despite the flaws and on PC it was at least decent.

After Halo CE it was all about multiplayer though, and to be honest I think Bungie borked the SP big time from the initiall promise.  Like Kow I think Halo CE had far and away the best campaign so far.  Reach might top it, but I'm doubting it.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Halo CE's campaign is very cliche , its just some bad dudes attacking  dudes while badass mastercheif is helping other dudes and this halo thingie is causing trouble.

Halo 2's campaign however is more interesting, it had more storyline since you play different characters

That said Halo shine in Multiplayer, you'd ignore all these "Flaws" if you are playing with someone, and i don't recommend the PC version it was crap.

also the "Corridor" maps are actually in a lot of the old school games, take Doom for example the whole game is a giant maze, but i'd still play it without getting bored (thanks to Mods that is   )

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

I just played it yesterday in my Uni's PC. Halo should have stayed in PC along with Microsoft.

Halo STARTED on the xbox....

Wait, that is true. They should have focused on PC and thing else then.

why?

I personally don't like Microsoft in the console market. I don't want them as competition for Sony and Nintendo. My two cents.

Thats a pretty pathetic reason.   Really really weak.

Competition can ONLY ever be good.

I'm glad Sony progressed from making crappy little transistor radios... I'm glad Nintendo started making video games, I'm glad Sega tried, I'm glad Atari existed....

I hope others try.

Yeah, competition can ONLY ever be good like with the games saturation during the 80s that helped with the game crash. It is not very smart to fall into such generalizations.

I can point out positive effects of Microsoft presence in the gaming industry, but noone can tell if we would have those benefits or even more than those if Microsoft would have not entered to the videogame market with the 360. May yes, maybe not. Things simply tend to evolve and adpat and we continue. I really don't care to waste time in speculations but you wanted to take things that direction so I mentioned this.

Regardles, I can say that I don't like Microsoft presence in the gaming industry and that I can say whenever I want. There is people that dislikes Microsoft, there is people that dislikes Sony and there is people that dislikes Nintendo or people that love them all or don't care, deal with it.

What is really pathetic here is you trying to bring down my opinion regarding Microsoft with a false generalization that doesn't even come to the case.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

And I'm sure going back and playing golden eye it wouldn't exactly be mindblowing like it was back in the day either. Many FPS games age poorly. What was even the point in this? Desperately seeking attention? :/

Now, if you would have said Halo 3 had an awful campaign and wasn't very impressive then I'd have to agree with you. It was recent enough to judge and had a campaign as fun as punching myself in the nuts. The online was obviously good though.

That being said, reach looks to be leaps and bounds the best in the series for SP imo. At least for this gen of halo.

PS3 Trophies

After replaying it a couple weeks ago I was a little underwhelmed. But the real fun is in coop, play it that way and you will love it forever as I did.

This was the first coop shooter  ever played and this game and the goldeneye made me the shooter fan I am today. Goldeneye and Halo do underwhelm as they age, but that is just natural as technology improves and makes for more engrossing experiences.
