I echo the question as it's still the best game on the 360.

Well... I wouldn't go that far, that is kind of a ridiculous comment.

Why and how was that ridiculous?

I think it's the best experience the 360 has to offer. Counterpoint?

If you think it is the best game on 360, than you can think that. It is definitely the best RPG on the 360, let alone this generation in my eyes. But the 360 library has so many fantastic games. It would be foolish for me to make a definitive statement like "this one game is the single best game on the 360." And I'm not going to do it.

Because it's not on the PC. And yes, I've always wanted to play it.

Not a fan of JRPG's given a few a go this gen and only enjoyed FFXIII.  Given most people are quick to lambast FFXIII for not beinga traditional JRPG I don't think I'll bother ever trying LO.

This isn't a bash against JRPG games, it's just my personal tastes.

Seriously, you have got to try it then. FF 13 was just sooo boring. If you enjoyed it, then more power too you, but I feel like when I play that game, a little bit of me on the inside dies. Lost Odyssey was everything I've always wanted in an RPG. And I'm definitely not the biggest RPG fan out there

Who knows, I get very little gaming time at the moment and still have Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2 and soon Halo Reach to get through, maybe between January and April next year I'll get a chance to take a look.  I never completely dismiss games without playing them it's just they get put very far down on my priority list so I can concentrate on games I know I'll enjoy.  That's not counting any PC or PS3 titles that will catch my eye either too...

played up to the beginning of disc 4 when i have to face those 4 monsters out in the water ..i couldnt get past it so i said fuck the game n havent played it in months

I also agree with him.

And if you also consider it to be the best RPG on Xbox 360, why would you think people who likes RPG more than other genres can't say it is the best game on the 360?

But even if a person does not like RPG that much and still consider it the best game on 360, that's just an opinion.

Other than that, i agree that is great. A few months ago i wouln't say it's the best because of Tales of Vesperia. But i finally manage to buy a copy from play-asia (ntsc/j) and i have really to reconsider that. This game has standards of an AAA game.

And i'm still surprised to see how Square Enix could screw up their games like they did with The Last Renmant, IU and Fin.... (no, that one is good).

You do realise those monsters are ridiculously susceptible to sleep don't you? Put them all to sleep then lay the smackdown but be warned there's another really frustrating scrap pretty soon after :)

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Never even heard of it...

I play PC and PS3. The best of both worlds.

I played it and it pissed me off so I stopped playing it.

The first big bird fight was stupid.  I actually tried to apply strategy like use things it might be weak against when you're just supposed to ignore any special abilities or items, ignore allies falling in battle, and just hit it.

Well, that boss is actually the hardest boss in the entire game.

Although, you'd probably not even like anything else about it, considering your rabid hatred of RPGs that aren't named Final Fantasy VI.

Put three to sleep, attack the last one. Try to kill it. Make sure that at least three are always asleep, so you have to leave the battl and go around putting them to sleep a lot, but it's very doable if you do that.

If you're still interested, I mean

Status ailments have a rather low success rate in LO.

I just do it the same way I do every other boss battle, buff everyone, then attack/heal.

I don't remember it being particularly annoying.
