Hrm... is it bad if I was amused by the fact that this was reported by MSNBC?

Why would liberal media try to denounce the Xbox 360!

Because all Xbox 360 fans are Republican.

Well if you find that funny you should consider Fox News.

Created to be the new channel of Fox... by far the most liberal and outrageous major network .

I still don't understand how one can be paying for multiplayer in this day and age for a system that is so locked down and restricted that you should be getting paid to use. I mean, can anyone else imagine this happening on any other platform?

This probably explains it best.

"PSN is not an acceptable substitute for Xbox Live, though it's often said to be, because in order to appear reasonable it is sometimes necessary to say things which are untrue. The only way to say something like that with a straight face is if you don't have experience with both, or if you don't play a lot of online games with friends. Even ancillary things like how it updates games (or the box itself) aren't up to par. I've had that fantasy before, believe me, the one where I shift my allegiance: Bluetooth headset slung firmly over the ear, I would set out to found a virtuous kingdom. But then I couldn't chat with whoever I wanted, when I wanted to chat with them. I couldn't form a game independent group to plan the evening's adventures, retain communications, or simply to mute every other person on the service. Invites don't manifest themselves in any kind of consistent form. These aren't little things - they're baseline functionality. It would be great if Sony offered a product this absolute, but they have chosen not to do so."

Well ok, that may explain the PS thing, but then what about all the dozens and dozens of services on the PC which do offer all of that, free of charge, and you can be a proud homosexual as much as you want?

Edit: On the upside, he seems to have his wits about him too:

"But God damn can I hold a grudge, God damn; and making me resent you is the first step to my courting another."

Here's to hoping people wisen up in the forseeable future.

Lots of people hate PC gaming and/or are to lazy to hook up a computer to their living room TV?

I mean, hell.  Why does anyone buy ANY game on consoles that's also on PC?

Cause platformers and those tricksy beat-em-ups abolutely fucking blow on the PC without a gamepad? Though for shooters I sometimes ask myself the very same question. Maybe they don't have the money to make a rig that will run games on max either, for $300 I'd be able to build one that ran games only on low-mid (though console games do look low-mid anywho on the PC but that's a whole other story). But that last one really baffles me, they are out to save money... then they pay for service plan which seems like it fell out of the 80s in terms of the consumer interest?

MSFT has a history of douing this actually

Yeah, but it costs like... 50 dollars for a gamepad.  Hell, I just use one of my PS3 controllers.

I just know that if a game is available for the PS3/Wii/360 now or five years from now, it's going to work and it's going  to work exactly the same for me as it will for my friend.  We get an equal experience and we know exactly what to expect.  PC games (to me) have this stigma that I won't be able to play it on the best settings, that I won't be able to run the game at all without upgrading, or that I won't be able to play the game with my friends as easily (just run to their house with a disc and a controller and enjoy!).  So I don't game on a PC.
