I'm not a fan of The Lord of the Rings flicks (I thought the first was good but the rest...meh) so Peter Jackson doesn't sound too appealing to me. I like what Blomkamp did with D9, gritty and somewhat of an old school 80's sci-fi feel, at least to me. I think if there is a movie that whomever does it, they can't be afraid to capture that gritty feel. I'm so afraid of some kind of over the top approach just to cash in on the brand. I will say that I'm good with just about all of the Halo live action stuff that has come out and that 343 seems really dedicated to keeping it tight. I really do like the idea of a series too.

LOTR, King Kong, district 9. Like em, or not, you cannot deny this guy makes his movies BIG. That is why he would be perfect for the Halo movie.

I guess I'd have no problem with him as a producer, I'd just prefer a different director. I also don't consider D9 "big" compared to the others mentioned with it's measly 30 mil budget. One more thing, I don't think there is a direct correlation between something being big and something being good.

I'm not talking about price. I'm talking about the feel of the film, the LOTR trilogy and King Kong were especially "big" in this aspect.
