Guys, the day when Kaz Hirai said you needed a second job for a ps3, it now applies today for its games.

Besides, when you finish those games, the games you couldn't buy gets cheaper, (probably), where you enventually buy them.

Man, what are you guys talking about?  The PS3 has no games.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to continue to live under this rock I purchased in late '06.

As long as you dont agree with legend11 :P. But, Ripoff is kind of hard considering it works with a cam and is more precise. Now if someone say, resembling or inspired of, thats more reasonable. I know you were joking but I wanted to precise.

Hrm... it's said that many legends were based in some fact at some point, though sticking with them, I'm not too sure. I'll look at them with my weird eyes:

1. I think this came about from the huge spurts Sony does it in. None of the big 3 are innocent of this though. Nintendo may have the reputation for doing this the least, but it's not none as some might claim.

2. Opinions are kinda hard to prove. It's really an opinion, probably formed from the inception of PSN. I think calling it great then would be a stretch, but now... it's really a preference thing.

3. This is true for all companies. ALL companies. If they're not getting money, they go broke and close.

4. Someone already summed this up with living under a rock since 2006; I'd be hard-pressed to think of any system that didn't have any exclusives...

5. It doesn't have the reputation of the RROD, but I can't help but find it funny how many people, including here, are scared to use their BC PS3s because of this. At that point, it may as well have YLOD'd, making them get a new system. If you're going to be afraid of it, sell it. This goes for any system with a failure rate.

6. To say that nobody uses it as a blu-ray player is folly. And this may be another one of those things from 2006, when it was the cheapest BR player on the market, and it was suspected (but never proven) that many system sales were for the player only. It's still a decent player for today, made better by the ease of updating, but I'd be comfortable in saying it's nowhere near 50% today.

7. Haha... selective application, much? All the systems have their fans, and their fanboys. This is without a doubt, just baseless spin. And, I'd hazard, part of why we ban for baseless calling people of fanboys...

8. Powerwise, they're relatively close. The key is optimization to work around the different bottlenecks on the systems. The PS3 has the benefit for additional graphics storage on its media, though. But, in regards to the multi-plats, it's because developers are more familiar with the structure of the 360, and thus, are fairly skilled in optimizing for that. Reworking things to reoptimize for the PS3 is, regardless of what either side says, a fair amount of work. Coupled with the inexperience of the cell, it was harder for them to get the best output.

9. This is kinda the toughest to disprove. I understand the differences in the technology (camera tracking balls vs remote and IR sensor bar), but there is a fair belief among the "casuals" that it is in fact, the same thing. That's going to be the tough stigma for Sony to shake...

10. This really is more spin. If you actually want all the features in the PS3, it's a good price. Usually, people who only want 1 feature spin this angle. Only care about HD gaming? Sure, the 360's cheaper. Only care for motion? Sure, the Wii's cheaper. But, say you want a BR player and a current gen gaming system? Sure, you could get a Wii or 360 and a $100 BR player. But the PS3 makes a better BR player than that $100 player, and it takes up less space (and outlets, for those who are shy on those) in your entertainment center.

11. Hrm... maybe I should start banning people who do this? :P

I agree with everything in your post but 3 and to a certain extend 9. For 3, its because they also care about their products. For 9, the keyword is ripoff. Other than that, very insightful post ; ).
