Forums - Microsoft - I was wondering if you get a RROD with the old xbox 360 is it possible to

transfer from the hard drive to the new slim.
I know you can get an adapter kit... But I don't want to pay for that as the only one I had my 2nd LO playthrough at 15hrs. And I can restart. I took the hard drive out of the case and put it in a portable usb hard drive case... but my computer nor xbox 360 can read the data. So unless any of you have any bright ideas, I'm just going to wipe it and use it as a portable hard drive.

Also I heard the hard drive is internal in the new xbox 360 slims, however to open it. It voids the warranty (not going to do that). If you got the 4gb does it even have a place to put a hard drive and is it still possible to put in a hard drive later. Say when my warranty expires?

I sold the controller for 40 dollars on ebay... so that lowered my expense to 160... and I like the 360 slim a lot more as it's not like having a blender on while playing a videogame. However the smaller hard drive does suck as Lara Croft and the Guardian of light takes damn near most of it. beings if I remember before I  installed it the memory was only 2.9gb

I'm not sure what your saying with having taken the memory out of your 360 and having put it in a USB case. But if you do the towel trick on your old 360 you should have enough time to transfer all your saved data onto a usb which you can then use on your 360 slim. Although I think just buying a transfer cable would be much less hassle.

Also I have no idea what your talking about voiding the 360 slim warranty by removing the hdd, those hdd's were designed to be removed so you would not void the warranty by removing it. Also yes you can get the 360 slim arcade and add extra memory later on. If your really tight on memory you could just add two USB's to your 360 slim and that will give you an extra 32gb of space which should be pretty decent.

I did the towel/screw down trick... and dumbly continued playing it... And now when I do the trick it does not work. haha

You can take apart the old 360 hard drive enclosure and it's just a normal laptop hard drive inside. Which can be put into an enclosure for PC laptop hard drives.

I have not researched on how to add the hard drive yet... though it's not vital, because I can use the old hard drive... in the usb attachment I got. :P for the 16gb.

thankyou
