Ouch.

One of my Xbox 360s has two red ring, its two and a half years old and has been abused quite massively. The other one is a spare I got to increase the HDD space and its one and a half years old and sees little use. Both are out of warranty and both are died within 48 hours!

Im a little peeved, but what can I do? I even had a Wii break down on me this generation. Im a very unlucky camper when it comes to hardware.

I blame Binary Solo, he always wanted me to play on the PS3 exclusively.

Get you a 360 Slim.  "Everyone" else is doing it.  If your 360 was "abused quite massively" for 2.5 years, then I think you got your money's worth.  But both dying within 48 hours, coincidence.  Hey, you don't want you game collection going to waste, right?

Don't all 360's have a three year warranty?

Only for RRoD failures.

He said one was an error code *something, something* and the other was a red blinking half circle of smiley faces or something, but not an RRoD.

That error code could be a hard drive failure or video cable problem of some sort though; I'd look it up to find out.

So make your 360 red ring then.

He doesn't want to. Said he's too honest to deliberately brick a console. Or brick two already bricked consoles in this case.

go buy a ps3!

I have one of those. Do you think I need to appease my unlimited anger and give in to binary solo's machinations and schemes and go without Xbox?

well dont touch your rrod 360 for 2 weeks, it might work again. same thing happened with a friend. if you dont want to buy a new console id stick with ps3/pc/wii.

No, I would stick with just a PC, they seem the most solid. the PS3 has it's YLOD which always seem to strike out of warranty, and the WIi had the disc drive falures.

Thats quite the temptation really when I have two Phenom II Quad core machines with either a 5870 or a 5750 and 4GB RAM each respectively. But alas I am a whore who doesn't feel sane without all three home consoles at once. Maybe I will try to wean myself off this madness and maybe, just maybe the Xbox 360's dying has given me that chance.

Buy a new slim X360 and problem will be solved. Had mine for almost 2 months now and am really digging it. Quiet as can be and FAR more reliable.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
