Forums - Gaming Discussion - My journey so far in UWO CBT

My thoughts at first is that I'm going to be lost in this game due to the complexity and its huge world. But what i'm concerned about is that how am i going to understand the game itself and if I am able to progress at all. This concern of mine is actually answered because of the game's tutorials and the their "Maritime Academy" (Newbie School System). The academy is long but its worth experiencing it. Having a school also lets you join a chat channel for students just like myself and community is very informative and fun to talk with.

One major thing that most players doesn't do in MMORPG games is READING! I myself was one of those players that just skip through all the conversation and just accept the quest and hunt bunch of these mobs or gather some these items. In UWO it is different, gathering information through reading is a must! Like for example i was able to make a huge profit by just having a drink with a bar girl attendant and afterwards giving me a tip that the production of Alchohol in Dover (South of London) is overflowing making the price lower. I bought lots of these then sell it to another port or town making a huge profit. Well anyways my point is reading will be your key to your success in the game. There is also a UWO wiki that the current community is making and everday they are pitching in by giving information about the game.

Moving on, every time I play the game I always discover new things that you can actually do like having your own quarters (As you progress through the game you can even buy a house or a farm, maybe yet an island) and you can decorate it with object that you bought or discovered in your adventures (Example paintings, ornaments, etc...). You can also invest by giving money in some town or city to have new facilites and to be recognized by its people. You can also conquer ports to stop other countries' influence thus increasing your trade routes.

I started out as a Military student and currently still a student because there are 3 levels of schooling UWO and just graduated from the first one. Besides the school you can be hired by players, companies, or guild to do some errands for them. Besides the side quests, there is also a story mode that differs from which country you choose from in the beginning. There are other quests as well that is related to 15th century history that you can partake in.

Finally my absolute favorite part of the game is the sea battles, battling 2 to 3 pirate ship at the same is a rush for me. I feel like Luffy in One Piece (Anime Series), having powerful cannons or big ships is factor but without strategy this will end up in failing. Aiming and manuevering of your ship are your elements of winning a sea battle, firing at a ships weak spot either behind it or in front of it deals great damage and your opponent cant fire back because the cannons are located at the side. you can even charge your ship into them initiating melee battles.

There are more other things to experience into this game and as you can see i have already said a lot about it. Therefore my conclusion is that this game very different from what I usually playing and I'm having fun.

Thanks for reading my massive wall of text...
