Forums - General - Satoshi Kon's last words...

So a few days ago Satoshi Kon, one of my favorite anime directors of all time (one of my favorite filmmakers in any medium actually), died with no warning.  It turns out he was told he had six months to live at the most (he only got three months though), and he didn't tell anybody.  He just privately died at home with his family.

He did however, write a final farewell note to all his fans and friends.  Here it is.

Noooooooooooooo..... This is not good....

that was one of the most touching things Iv ever read.

If Clint Eastwood made a movie out of that, it would be the next titanic in the nominees.

I don't even feel I can appropriately respond to those final words.

I'm moved beyond belief. I almost cried at several parts.

Here's to one of the greatest directors of all time.

May he rest in peace, as so we all one day.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

Wow. It's the degree of stoicism that you see in TV, books, and movies, but never really think people actually have.

Wow.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

my god.....

holy crap!

Satoshi Kon is one stoic dude, it's like he channeled his inner Batman there!

I'm still bummed he passed on, can't wait to see his last film.  I may have to dust off millenium actress, seems like a fitting movie to watch...

That was a great "good bye", Kon-san...
