Forums - Gaming - Lightning Rarely Strikes Twice for a Franchise

Wait, so Wii Sports Resort doesn't count for Wii Sports 2? Oh wait, I forgot this is Malstrom where Nintendo can do no wrong. I fully expect Malstrom to come out, admit he was wrong, and criticize Nintendo for this move! Oh wait...

@Killana1a:

It is hard to take the discussion to those future games until we actually can play them. Halo: Reach looks like a pretty awesome sequel (or prequel) with Bungie mixing things up a bit with armor abilities and such. It's hard to say anything about the second half of Fable III, because I believe Lionhead has said that they're not going to talk about it specifically at all. Fallout: NV I'm expecting to be similar in the way KOTOR II was to the first KOTOR, which is to say that it won't be that different at all.

well the thing sony still relevalt its because..

sony for the past year its only game company to introduce many first partys like uncharted, infamous , littlebigplanet and still keeping tracks on their good games.

Let's say the "lightning striking" is a title being a killer app.  Well... once a title hits and becomes a franchise, it is then an established genre, and gets its sales.  What would be the next killer app/lightning strike is likely going to have to be a blue ocean.  This means something unexpected and different.

Lightning will strike twice very soon...with inFamous 2 :P
